Just got this email;

Dear David,

First and foremost, we are sending everyone safe and healthy wishes. We know things are difficult in NYC right now, and our thoughts are with you, your family, and all the incredible essential workers who are on the frontlines.

During this time, it’s important for us to stick together as an NYCFC Family and continue to look forward; we cannot wait for that day when we are back together cheering on our team.

We last reached out when the decision was made to pause your March 15th payment. We remain confident this deferral was the right decision, especially given how uncertain the situation was at that time.

As the April 15th payment date approaches, we wanted to reach out again and communicate what the plan will be.

We have been in close contact with our partners at MLS and want to be clear that the game plan is to play a full 2020 season. Therefore, we plan to run the April 15th payments as scheduled.

As of today, your total balance due for your 2020 seats is $207.99 and your monthly payment is $41.60. This monthly payment will be charged on April 15th, and each month moving forward through August 15th.

That being said, we understand that these are uniquely challenging times. We are going through something no one could have predicted; everyone has a different set of needs and some may be facing financial hardships.

If you would rather defer your April 15th payment and spread it out over the remaining months on your payment plan (as was done with the March 15th payment), please fill out this form by Tuesday, 4/14 at midnight. A deferral would change your four (4) remaining monthly payments to $52.00 starting May 15th. This new amount will repeat again in June, July and August.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your direct account representative. As always, our team is ready to help.

Now, more than ever, we appreciate your continued support. We will get through this together with the same teamwork and tenacity our players show on the pitch.

Sincerely,
Matt Goodman

Price above is for my Supporter's Section single ticket, OG Price. Will be great when they realize a full season is far from what will happen. We'll be paying for our season tickets while streaming a match via Hulu... great.

Was just about to post the email as well. Not very happy about this move at all.

This email is complete BS. We have had zero home matches, and it’s pretty damn irresponsible to say they’re planning to play a full season without giving any indication how - as of right now no states are even allowing events with groups of people, so continuing to charge installments for a product we can’t use is disingenuous. It’s also a tone-deaf approach to a city that’s the epicenter of the US outbreak.

They’re really trying hard to push people away with a lack of patience.

They and MLS don't seem to get it. Even the Jets, who don't start preseason until August, stopped taking payments.

The New York Jets have been closely monitoring the global events surrounding the spread of COVID-19 and fully support the precautions being taken in response. Our number one priority is the health and well-being of our employees, players, fans and the communities we serve.

In light of this, we will be deferring your next scheduled season ticket payment. We will update you on the status of future season ticket payments in the coming weeks.

Please feel free to reach out to us anytime if you have any questions or concerns. We thank you for your unwavering support and wish for you and your families to stay safe.

Sincerely,

New York Jets

Yikes. I figured at the very least they would have suspended another month automatically, which would have been borderline ridiculous to begin with but at least understandable. This decision is just stupid and a slap in the face.

A full season, i.e. 17 home matches, WITH fans in attendance. Absolutely ludicrous.

"We're charging you for your tickets. You can come or not. Your health is your choice."

this will continue to happen until MLS says no season......which they will wait till the bitter end.....and maybe even past that.

I didn't think they could establish a new baseline low. About a week ago I predicted payments would have to remain suspended because I didn't think they could go this low, but they can. This is absolutely inexcusable.
"We have been in close contact with our partners at MLS and want to be clear that the game plan is to play a full 2020 season. "

There is no way that happens, especially with fans in the seats. If they have such a plan, they need to release it to justify this.

You should all defer your payments until august 15th, and then send tweets / etc far-reaching.
AKA Defer now, then defer again next month, etc.

pretty crazy. there's no way we can play with full fans in attendance without massive testing efforts and a vaccine too.

not a chance we'll be able to go to games this season, even if they resume the season. for them to continue charging and basically forcing people to choose between going or their health, that's just wrong. FO does it again.

I'm gonna defer my april 15th payment to may 15. at least that gives them a month to figure things out and less of my money they have tucked away in their accounts that i'll never be able to touch unless it's through an unattentive rep.

Im reading MLB is doing something similar and no refunds have happened for their game so far and their ST also in limbo.

no league wants to cancel it seems just delay.

I can at least understand the continued automatic deferral.

I understand not wanting to cancel until they absolutely have to admit it. And so I also can understand a no refunds yet policy. But continuing to take ticket installments is a bit much.

true but i think they taking the lead from MLS, since its not officially cancelled then they have to continue as normal till its done ( no matter how ridiculous it sounds that they plan to play full season). i dont know if other teams are doing the same or not.

in my case im screwed since i paid it all in full last year.

Geez, that's bad. No excuse for charging people for tickets right now. Especially in this area. Completely tone deaf.

Anybody wanna wager this is a game of chicken the club is playing. If people are pissed off and cancel their tix, the club keeps the money. If all is paid and no season happens, then the club has to refund. Really wonder if this is a Fcking head shake moment where they’re hoping to trap people with the small print.

I’m sure my AMEX will eventually get involved to recoup this season’s invoices. Trying to figure out best way forward - I bet the form that has to be filled out also has small print attached working in their favor. Need to deal with this tonight.

Has anybody not received this email? I haven’t seen anything telling me that payments will continue this month.
