Of the 17 MLS Regular Season matches in 2021, how many will be played at Yankee Stadium?

I agree with many of the sentiments given above. My only input is that as a NYS Parks employee I received a department wide email asking everyone if there is anyone who has any medical training or background to help administer the vaccine and put shots in people's arms. I think the state's resources are spread so thin it doesn't help that Cuomo keeps flip flopping on his plan going forward. There are a lot of moving parts and lack of funding. I see this process taking a lot longer than it should especially with people signed on who's background are not mainly in the medical field.

Serious question. How difficult is it to train someone to administer a shot?

I think one of the first things you learn in nursing school is setting up an IV drip.

Being that they only asked for certified/licensed as EMT’s, Paramedics or phlebotomist, I think the DOH has a specific standard that must be followed. I'm sure it's not that hard to administer, but they are reaching out to parks which to me is reaching for the bottom of the barrel. You can't have just anyone put it in their arm in case something bad happens. So they have to cover the basic requirements in order to cover their asses.

one of the first things nurses learn and the one thing 90% of them are horrible at. can't tell you how many times i've been jabbed with a needle cause they can't find my vein. it's pretty ridiculous.

Well it's not as simple as sticking people. You have to get it into the syringe, which I believe is a process to ensure you don't have air bubbles, because that could harm people. I'm sure people can be trained, but I'd rather people who know what they're doing.

Personally, I hope they delay the season until April or May. I realize the summer tournaments will make that hard, but they can extend the regular season into November if they have to.

better yet - delay the season to start at the same time as europe. won't happen though cause i'm sure they don't want to compete with football on TV and attendance

You want attendance to crater, try playing games from December-February in New York City.

I follow the logic. But then is the only difference between say, the Giants/Jets and NYCFC is that American Football is more established and people want to go? Or are those NFL games having abysmal attendance as well during the winter? I'm curious if those NFL teams have a drop in attendance due to weather like our early March games.

NFL regular season is played in the fall, not winter. It ends very late December. Those last few weeks can be cold, but it is usually not winter cold. Anyways, late season cold games are compelling for teams in contention. For the bad teams, attendance does fall off. The playoffs are in January-February, but it's the playoffs. MLS would be playing midseason doldrum games in the coldest time of the year. No-shows and low ticket sales would be chronic.

While the vaccines are key to getting back to a normal gameday, I am cautiously optimistic that we might have some fans in seats from the start.

I just finished watching the Bills play with people in the stands, and we will get to see another game in Buffalo next weekend. If the state can get comfortable that the games didn’t contribute to community spread, there is reason to hope they will put a plan in place for MLS and MLB.

Yes, this is clearly a trial balloon for other leagues. If it goes well in Buffalo, I think you'll see NY allow small amounts of fans at other outdoor events, including our games.

watch cuomo say "NYC is different due to the congestion and public transportation. So, no attendance."

Maybe this was already brought up. Everyday, more and more is becoming blurred together.

Last year, we couldn't use Yankee Stadium because of MLB's rule of not allowing the sharing of stadiums because of COVID. If that continues into 2021, we may be playing the entire season (that doesn't overlap with MLB) at Red Bull Arena.

i really feel this is a given, we will be at RBA until MLB is done-or moved to a bubble like in 2020. its not too much of an issue imo since im not expecing people to be allowed in stadiums until late summer at the earliest.

EDIT: what about canadian teams? it may be same thing again where we share RBA with montreal, and RB. the other option was Army soccer stadium but i dont think that was approved.

Kind of my point. Like why aren’t they asking Dentists and Vets to get involved here. Or EMTs. Or school nurses. Or pharmacists It’s going to take a year to vaccinate people. Why aren’t we training 100,000 people to give shots starting in April or May

This morning on NPR, they played a quote from Cuomo who said he hoped the protocol used for the Bills games could be used to open other venues, specifically mentioning theaters and restaurants.
