6/22/16 City Voice Poll

That was fun. i could have written essays for each question if not for the phone's keypad. and the 10sec question is sure to spark a lot of good answers....

I try not to be a wise ass when it comes to these things, but today I just couldn't help myself from being stoopit.

On the Transparency issue I asked if someone was triple dog dared to pose that question? And on the next question I let them know that since I'm not a poseur, "Authentic", "Organic" & "Grassroots" have no resonance with me (Bet that's the first time you ever heard that from me! )

I didn't do it because I just wanted to answer all of them quickly....especially that stupid 10 second one which... if you hit back, you get another 10 seconds to add on, but can someone post screen shots of the questions?

The 10-second one was funny, because it really worked to get my first reaction. So to describe NYCFC's "identity" in 10 seconds what I managed to type was "blue, NYC." The next word I was going to type if I had time was professional. Those 3 words are what first came into my head.

My main points for transparency and communication were
  • Lampardgate 1 - the fake signing
  • Lampardgate 2 - the week-to-week questionable injury that turned out to have been more serious all along once he was booed; and
  • announcing a new paper ticket/eTicket policy after the season started on a Friday after 5pm, less than 48 hours after telling STHs on the phone the exact opposite
I gave very high marks to the City in the Boroughs event, and generally said the individuals I have dealt with directly have come across well, but the organization as a whole has issues.
I'd really be curious to hear how other people answered the 10-second question. What popped into your heads?

I don't remember any of the questions or what I wrote, but I definitely gave them a piece of my mind. I think the last one I said something along the lines of "the very fact you're sending out this survey about transparency shows you realize there is a problem. I hope you work towards fixing it.

Oh, and besides the whole Lampard fiasco, I also mentioned the stadium too as lacking transparency. I get that they can't tell us where they are targeting, but if they hired Populous, at least admit that!!! Throw out some renderings to keep us interested. Let us know how close or far we are in the process.

Yeah regarding the stadium, calling it a "lack of transparency" is an understatement. Halfway through the second season and our stadium is closer to urban legend than reality. They only really reference it when they throw it out there as an incentive to buy season tickets. Give us your money now, and we promise you a seat in the stadium that we'll never talk about again.

My responses were Lampard and the stadium. The ten second response, was NYC, and asked if City in the Boroughs will be extended to out of city residents.

You guys are too nice with the 10-sec question. First thought that popped into my head was 'Cheesy' - everything they've done is Mickey Mouse. They have a big rollout for the first jersey and it's actually MCFC's jersey. They announce the DP and then walk it back. They come out with this year's second jersey and it's so odd and pajama-like that it becomes campy (that is a positive only by default). They talk about the synergy of clubs and it's really not evident. They talk about a stadium and... Crickets.... They don't really talk about a stadium. Their PR team is so out of touch with the fans ala Super Frank. They say they want to take a game seriously and then trot out a B-squad.... It's all so comical....

They have been the absolute antithesis of a professional organization.
