Apparently this is a done deal. Haven't heard much of the rumor besides what was said here. Don't know much about him. Germany develops solid talent and being with Leverkusen/Mochengladbach (omg just spelled that without looking) shouldn't be overlooked.

Developed with Bayer Leverkusen for 10 years.

He certainly appears to like running through on goal. Remember when you watch this that this video was made 5 years ago, when he was 20, for the record, so he's probably developed a fair amount. It should also be born in mind that much of this footage is from the Veikkausliga in Finland, which in honesty could probably make me look like Messi, but it's something all the same.

We don't know if this is more than just a depth signing but I like the competition that is brewing in CM with NcNamara, Ring and Camargo

Based on his Transfermrkt value, I sure hope he's expected to start and contribute significantly! But I too am very curious to see where PV fits everyone. Makes pre-season much more interesting this year.

Can play anywhere centrally but appears his best spot is CDM.

Edit: Nevermind, while he can play CDM, I was thinking of someone else on FCK

Based off his highlight video, he looks to have a lot of pace and aggression in the midfield and is capable of making the final pass. Also has a strong shot as well.

If the report is true, he would be a solid addition to the team. Loving the continuing trend of young and fast players that the FO has been targeting this offseason (and last offseason).

I'm not watching his highlight video because

I'm starting to think Vieira doesn't differentiate his midfielder spots as much as we like to on here. Sort of like Kreis, who wanted his midfielders to adapt within to game to carry out duties as necessary.

This would highlight pace, endurance, and positioning. Skills are secondary and should compliment the other two midfielders. He inherited Lampard and Pirlo and made it work, but Pirlo also nails the endurance and positioning requirements.

This would explain Mikey over Mix, and the departure of Poku. It would also explain the lack of emphasis so far on a true 6. And it helps make sense of all the CM/AM signings so far. Ofori would be perfect under this logic.

If we take your statement as a truth, then every midfielder should be a shooter when they have a clear shot at the top of the box. Neither Iraola nor Pirlo ever shot when the opportunity begged. Therefore there may be a slight problem with thinking Vieira doesn't differentiate responsibilities. Or, both of those players were terrified of pulling the trigger.

We also have to remember these were both Kreis era signings, so they may not be Vieira's type of players

I tried to find some highlights as well and found that one and another one around the same time which had 2 plays on it from different angles.

Vieira doesn't want Pirlo on his squad. #HotTakes
I actually think you're right and if he were Norwegian-American and 25, we'd hear the same rumors of being a malcontent, insubordinate dickhead. Probably also sourced from K Kjbert 's nameless, specifics-absent pal in the front office who must be a shithead b/c look at our FO.

Should we be concerned that he doesn't have a highlight video? It doesn't seem like a European player needs to do much to warrant a youtube video with horrible music.

That's a bit of a leap.
