Away Day Casuals

What if we go in as casuals and sit together so people don't expect anything. Right before the game start we bust out our colors/banners/flags and sing a song. Would be a powerful effect invading their stadium "by surprise."
Come out of the closet with colors

I can dig the casual thing, but I've never been scared to walk into an away stadium for any sport, wearing my team colors. Black Adidas track jackets is something I would be def down to wear.

Casual is also a style. It's about different brands. It's about what's cool. Urban, and stylish. Brooks brothers with white Air Force ones, black Fred Perry buttoned up to the brim jeans and tims.
You get the idea. Casual style had a lot
To do with with what the English boys saw in Europe and brought home. I think looking tip top on the terraces is essential.

Tends to become a bit of its own 'uniform' in a way tbh. We've seen a massive surge of it over here in Australia, and now you get hordes of pimply little freds dancing about in their Fred Perry button ups and Adidas trainers.

Nothing wrong with that mind you.

I anticipate of floodgate of poo for this idea but I'll put it out there anyways.

The gist is we don't want to be yuppies sporting nycfc kits and colors at our away games. We also don't want to be cookie cutter hooligans. I'd like to think we want to make a statement without being extremely obvious.

What if we all wear black shirts (decent polos) and black hats to away games. Nothing really to do with our team but still we would always be recognized as a mass of black without glaring logos. Our team on the pitch would recognize us as well. We could get fancy and get our logos stitched to the shirts too.

I volunteer to open the floodgate. :D

I've voiced my opinion on this previously and I guess I fall in the yuppie camp. Oh well...I guess I'll be a yuppie while chanting and singing until my voice is hoarse. You know...as yuppies do.

Haha! To each his own friend. No offense regarding the yuppies. I'll be joining you with the chanting and singing until my voice is just as hoarse as yours. I don't know what I will be wearing however :D

Lads, I've read some cringeworthy things in my time but this takes the biscuit.

Be original. Don't try and be something you're not having watched a few hoolie movies like Green Street or The Football Factory.

Support your club, and do so passionately.

Create your own culture.
I think it's essential to put your own spin on fan culture, with New York I believe it will have a hip flavor to what's
Worn.
I used to hang out with a lot of fellas in Ireland who are die hard league
Of Ireland fans and some of the more
Fun conversations that are had are
On supporter fashion.
This is a forum where saying this shit is ok, and discussing what's cool or not on the terraces.
Coming from England and seeing how
Most Americans first contact with supporter culture was thru Green street. That is, what it is.
I believe in some way that movie has had a ripple effect on American youth. I remember being a kid going to metro games and the atmosphere being dull and grey. Yet after green street came
Out there was an electricity in the air as fake middle class hooligans tried to fight people. Out of the 4 eejits who tried to fight one would become a diehard fan. That one diehard fan became 2 and so on and so forth.
So it may seem cringeworthy to read about this, but you must remember Americans are just getting the hang of supporter culture. Look at how sterile american sporting events are! Seattle
Has the loudest team fan base and all they do is fucking YELL. That is the
Legacy Americans have to compete with.

WITH THAT BEING SAID....I'm all about wearing brooks brothers and tims to matches, it's casual, and it's urban, it's New York.

It´s a bit funny that the first casuals wore Fila.. Not a brand that any of them sport nowadays to my knowledge.

This is what casuals in England wear now no body wears track suits anymore

I feel like that style is pretty common in most countries outside the US. I know for a fact that in Korea we wear fitted polos/Adidas/neck collard jackets etc.

That being said, I don't know if being casual warrants having a casual uniform. I plan on dressing the way I normally dress..casually :D

There are certain things we can emulate from the supporter culture from across the pond, but for pro soccer to continue to grow and flourish in the US, we have to make it our own.

I REALLY don't want to see hipster hooligan wannabes in the stands.

Support your team. Wear your colors.

Here is my two cents; in other threads we talk about how we don't want to be mini mcfc. Then over here everyone's ready to cheer like the English, and dress like the English. Last time I checked and I mean this with all due respect to those across the pond. We declared our independence on this day to NOT BE FUCKIN ENGLISH. I will have my colors on proudly that's what WE do. I will not say in one breath let's not be mini mcfc and then in the next become a cookie cutter fan. Is there some good ideas yes sure the no cappo no drums I like. But thats the extent of it.

I thought this had to do with those BS scarves that dude was talking about when Tiger started the Savile Rogue thread. I have no idea what this means but whatever makes you happy! Just be loud!
