Away - March 7 - Toronto (Postmatch)

I continue to maintain I think it was more the league regulations than the team regulations that sent him over the edge. His thing about transfers and spending was spoken like someone who didn't understand the salary cap. His constant never-ending complaints about the schedule, etc.
FWIW I agree but I can’t say the evidence is certain. It’s just my best reading of what we know.

Add this to the list of club mysteries. We really don't know what drove him to leave. We have his statement about transfers and spending, but we don't know how much of that is deflection or self-serving (or the extent to which he failed to accept the limits of MLS spending). Did he have other opportunities lined up that fell through? Did he over-estimate his demand? Or was he truly so fed up with this club that he left regardless of whether he had any prospects?

It’s already come out that he was looking to work in MLS as a first option after leaving NYCFC, so that rules out the idea that it was an issue with MLS.

I thought there was substantial doubt about the authenticity of that report.

On the other hand, I've been wondering if the real issue with Dome and his staff was that they were very expensive. Perhaps CFG felt they needed to cut costs at the Club and this was one thing they did. I don't base this on anything other than some asides in an Atlantic article that mentioned CFG is trying to keep costs down a bit at NYCFC.

I can say with confidence that Dome's first choice was to continue working in the USA :/

just watched the MLS review show on youtube... our game highlights were basically 99% TFC highlights. just shows that we had zero attack. our only attack was medina's shot right at westburg. sigh. still hurts to watch.

Don’t forget Keaton trying to blast it near post 1v1 rather than far post.

yes - but that didn't make the highlight reel.
Really??? That setup give&go was perfect. It was highlight material for how not to finish the perfect play.

yea - in the review show, our only offensive highlight was medina's miss. everything else was TFC pummeling our goal. i'm surprised Johnson didn't get team of the week for all his saves. he kept us in that game.
