I'm definitely not suggesting that Ibby is better than Chanot, but I don't think Jozy will be able to more easily body up Ibby (6'2" 187lbs) than Chanot (6'1" 179lbs).

Huh... By the looks of him, I'd have guessed Ibby weighed about 50lbs. lol. I didn't mean to say it would be easier to body up Ibby over Chanot, I just think Chanot is a bit better in his positioning and Callens chemistry that there will be more opportunities for Jozy to body up one of our CBs and draw a foul like he always does. Our home game vs them last year was a mostly backup squad with a lot of missing players. No Chanot or Callens. Based on the MLS article, many players are looking at this game as a revenge game... all except Heber, who is just la de da as usual.

While I agree with you on paper that Ibby might be better to body Jozy, I vaguely remember in one the the Toronto games last year, Joey drawing a foul off of Ibby and then scoring the eventual penalty. Ibby's look of anguish at getting called for the foul is quite memoriable. Hes just less positionally sound than Chanot.
No doubt Chanot is a much better defender than Ibby.

If anything, Ibby is a bigger risk for a penalty since when Jozy flops, Izzy's at least big enough to have credibly been responsible.

That said, MLS refs would probably whistle Maxi for a penalty on Jozy if it came to it.

yeah Jozy would flip upon contact with Maxi and the refs would blame maxi. It is ridiculous how much Jozy gets away with. If Taty was called the same as Jozy NYCFC would break the Atlanta United penalty record.

the only time i think taty got special treatment was that game vs philly in regular season where we ended up winning 3-2 or something.

Have to work till six so will miss the first half. Question is do I avoid the score and start from the beginning when I get home ? Or follow on line and pick up with the second half?

If all you care about is the end result then watch live. If you really want to see the gameplay and how we play and evolve (or devolve) through the game then watch from the start. If you can't decide, msg someone who's been watching and ask if watching the first half is worth your time ..

Do we rest anyone today in anticipation of Tigres on Wednesday and Dallas the following Saturday?

I kind of think not. I'd go full squad for today and Wednesday and then rotate heavily for our home opener. Remember that we already have a mandatory rest for Chanot this afternoon.

Can’t afford to go 0-2 on the season. Full team plays.
