Away - October 17 - Chicago (Scrimmage)

feels like a pain in the ass to travel there, why not in our training facilities where we can put field dimensions close to what we will play next week.

on the other hand....we may be the last MLS team to face them at that stadium

hope no injuries.

Indeed. but anything can happen. obviously, chicago isn't going to be so kind as to fly to NY to play us at our training facility. They are doing us a favor so we have to go there. Who knows if they will even have a full squad or if it's just reserve players since a lot of their "good" players are either retired or out of contract.

Since this isn't an MLS sanctioned game, we should be able to charter this flight, right? That would make it a lot easier on the guys travel wise.

We'll still get almost a full week of rest before our first game. It's good timing in that sense. Just hope there aren't any freak injuries and happy to hear isi and parks are back in action. Just need to hear that Heber is back to full health and is scoring everything he touches on the training ground and i'll be a happy camper.

Not directly match related, but apparently two return flights were cancelled. Sleepy Gaz doesn't approve.

Dome wanted an MLS game in an MLS stadium and he got MLS travel as well. Looks like the team is curently on a plane this morning to come home. Hopefully they can recover in time. Was this game worth it?

The team will be home 24 hours before their opponent plays a competitive game in a different city. I think we'll be OK, and if we lose, it won't be because of this.

Oh yeah, if we lose (and Yankees lose Game 5), I'm 100 percent blaming Brad Sims on the loss for moving the game to Citi Field when it didn't have to be played there. That's even if like Ben Sweat gives up 4 penalties.

If it is Toronto you can expect the Jozy “back into someone, hold on to them and fall down” penalty at least once.

Totally reasonable to expect a team to defer selling playoff tickets -- or even promoting the location -- until 4 days before the game and on a weekend. I'd expect no less.

ETA: Actually just 3 days for the ticket sale. Only the STH pre-sale would have started 4 days before the game whose date and time have been set for almost 2 weeks.

We’re gonna find out that everybody’s lucky shooting boots were put on the wrong flight to Albuquerque and are spinning on the luggage carrousel for a week.
