Posted a poll, but would also love to hear commentary. Taking my brother-in-law and nephew to the Chicago game. They made clear they are not soccer fans, so I want to show them a good time.

Where should we go pre-game? Best mix of good food and good atmosphere?

Well 7/22 is Hawaiian Shirt Day in Section 234 (Bronx Football Social Club) and they pre-game in Yankee Tavern which is generally quite festive and douchey anyway

Stadium sports and Vega sports are solid places to pregame. Stadium has great Dominican/Puerto Rican food although sometimes the loud music blasting in your ears is a bit much. With that said, they're usually a bunch of nyc fans in both bars and everyone is pretty friendly. Hope this helped!

Last few times I went to the Red Hot terrace early, it was pretty chill. Got to see the players warm up very closely. Quiet enough to talk. Drink costs are, of course, exorbitant.

Thanks. Was there before the Minnesota game, but their kegs weren't working, so we went to Billy's. Would check it out again on Saturday, except doesn't seem the best place with 2 hungry kids in tow.

It's actually the best place with 2 hungry kids in tow. Reason being: You can bring in your own food. Dad gets to keep the bar experience. Kids get to be in the mix without it being over the top.

Interesting thought, but my guess is that we are going to want to sit and have a burger.

Yankee Tavern is also kid friendly. And their hamburgers are awesome.

That's good to hear. Are there enough seats? The couple of times I've walked by it looks really crowded by the entrance.

There is a separate area in the back to eat if the bar area is too crowded/loud. I have not eaten in the back but it appears to be roomier and quieter.
