Lol even a request to focus on the game becomes a distraction from the game

Anyone have an update on the police activity at the end of the match?
Chicago did a good job of locking down the center and for the most part not getting counter attacked on by settling into a block pretty quickly.
We didn't look comfortable when we weren't able to find those juicy inside channel passing lanes, and I guess the length of the field is making it hard for us to find balls over the top.
I would conclude that this system is unsuited to Yankee Stadium - as it seems to give up midfield control in favor of defensive solidity and the ability to take advantage of forward space behind the lines that just doesn't exist on our smaller field - except we looked really out of sorts up top. Maybe if we can get the same front 3 together for a few games in a row we can make this work at home too. Also I hate falling back on the "field too small" narratives.

1. Mrs. Mayor wasn't announced by the PA announcers for helping with the coin toss, so I didn't know when to boo.

They looked like really clumsy through-balls to me. Or through-balls that make sense when muscle memory is attuned to larger pitches. I don't think they were impossible balls to play well though.

It's interesting that the rules stipulate that a defender doing a comparable act (batting the ball away from the goal line) would get a red, but an offensive player batting the ball over the goal line to score would only get a max yellow.
And btw, a defender that unsuccessfully attempts to handle the ball away from the goal line only gets a yellow.

Well, the call was offside, so that's probably why - i.e. the play was dead. On the other hand, the whistle didn't blow until after the ball was in the net, so who knows?
That was also before FIFA made the change regarding advantage to the attacker (at least for offsides).
