Cincinnati (Away) - Postmatch

If were being honest maxi takes a bad touch and knows hes losing the ball feels contact on his shoulder and takes a dive. Lets not be homers
Irks me when the player going down immediately grabs at the ball, before any foul is called, in an effort to influence the ref that they were tripped. Since it happens before the whistle, would really like for a few refs to call them for a handball and award the kick the other way. Sure it’s splitting hairs, but don’t assume you’ll get the call for tripping - play to the whistle.

Maxi and others have been called for handball in this exact scenario. So it's been done. Refs should call it as they sell it. If it's a foul, fine. If it's not, handball. It's a bad habit to grab the ball.. but not a terrible thing if it's preventing a quick counter in dangerous territory. consider it a "tactical penalty" that doesn't result in a yellow card.

Would consider it a tactical foul since a tactical penalty is a PK.
