Cincinnati (Home) - Postmatch

Only the 3rd time ever we scored 5!
We scored seven goals tonight!

Hey, we looked good, but there's definitely a dose of "lads, it's Cincinnati" to tamp down our enthusiasm. I am happy we had two academy products on the field (at different times) tonight. Isi's goal was pretty great.

This does make me look forward to the USOC match next week.

I wonder how much any of our squad was self-conscious of Pep Guardiola being at the match.

I left at half time. Yankee Stadium security made a fuss about this and had it removed because, why?

Good night, that. 7 goals for us, my prediction early on was 5-3 so I wasn't far off.

Decent performance against an absolutely shocking opponent. Good to win big with several starters missing too.

And CAVANIIIIIIII, delighted for the lad to get on!

My sons 5th birthday and they scored 5 for him. Great night and home in less than an hour.

Thought third rail was terrific tonight start to finish. Good on those of you who were in there - assume roxfontaine was one

Thought Maxi had a weird game. Quietest 3 assists and a goal you will see.

Heber is great. Mitrita passed the ball very well tonight but there was one opportunity in the box when he passed instead of taking a good shot.

I really liked Isi as a central midfielder. Really different look. He’s just as comfortable on the ball as Ofori and I hope we see more of that look.

Taty I thought had a very active game. I think he put in a good shift.

First goal was on Stuver. You need to punch that. Thought he looked decent though.

Tinny was good. Good runs. Above average defensively. Got beat a couple of times. Rocha played within himself. All we can ask. I don’t mind him as a LB with the attacking options we put on the field.

Sands really frustrated Adi early on. Ok game from him before the injury. Nothing special. Chanot was good, not great. Same with Ring. Nothing special.

Haak looked very timid. Parks showed that he belonged. He’s not out of his element with the ball at his feet. Doesn’t appear to be as dynamic as I expected. I wonder what his true position is. Seems to be more of a deep lying player than I anticipated.

Tough news on Sands although it’s possible he won’t actuslly miss any MLS game time.

I thought Maxi was great tonight. Not only the assists and goal, but he assisted the assist on the other goal and that was maybe his best play. He was very active and involved in all 5 goals.

Once it was 3-0 the game was effectively over.

Heber was really good and it was nice to see Haak come on to great fanfare.

Difficult to evaluate against such a poor opponent, but I was very happy with our depth players. Rocha was solid in defense and pretty good going forward, and Keaton Parks produced a few very good vertical passes through traffic and was very precise in general with the ball. Also showed good judgment and willingness for contact in the foul against Manneh that got him the yellow card. I would like to see him play a full match instead of Ofori, to see how the loss in defense balances against the gain in offense. Looks like a guy who can help unlock a team defending on a low block. Also, Heber's best game. Isi's legend continues to grow: is it 16 goals on 23 SOG now?
