Columbus 1st Leg ECS - Postmatch

Start Sands.

Start anyone. Doesn't matter.

I don't think I'll attend. Last playoff match we had, I spent more time on the train than at the stadium.

Where do you start?

We don't tackle, we play the ball backwards far too often, Ring couldn't pass, Hererra couldn't pass and kept falling over, Callens elbowed a man in the face (who acted like he'd been murdered), Mata ducked down and walked out of the way to let a man score.... I just...

I'll be there to see us win 8-3 on Sunday though.

I'm not crying you're crying.

What I like about this team is how they like to kill off any possibility of gaining some momentum or the pretense thereof.

I mean, at least let me dream another few days. Or maybe sell my playoff extras.

You stupid twats. No reason to start White. And I'm butterfly effecting that as the root cause of all bad.

Not the worst game of the season, but nearly all marginals went against us.

1. Callens's red was a clear, no doubt about that. A moment of madness that cost three goal afterwards.
2. Harrison had two good chances before Columbus scored. Villa needed five chances to score his goal. Plenty of opportunities.
3. Johnson had his worst game of the season. A stinker.
4. We don't have a number 10. No one's running at the opposition defense in the middle.
5. We only have 1 DP player.

Does anyone believe in 3-0 in the return leg?

Whose gonna replace Callens in the middle, anyway? Watch PV fuck around and put Pirlo there, or Mikey Lopez, who knows. He clearly doesnt give a damn about the postseason anyway.

Really fucking disappointed but no t suprised, we backed into the playoff without being able to score, but what an idiot callens is, doing this shit in the playoffs, and SJ how the fuck do you let that 3rd in. When Villa scored I had some more hope, but we cocked that up too. The worst part is that we didn't even play that badly, we hit the post and got so many gifts from the crew but we can't take advantage of mistakes (whenever we make a mistake it's in the net but whatever). It's another one and done season, because we can't keep it together when shit gets tough. We need a miracle and come on we are NYCFC we don't get that kind of luxury. I'mma pass out and try and forget that playoffs exist and think about how we are going to screw up this offseason. For once I want to see this team give us something meaningful, whether it is the open cup, or MLS cup we need to do a lot better with big games. #mobilepost

You wanna know what I'm going to show up to Yankee Stadium and root for 3-0 cause that's what a fans gotta do. I don't care if I'm filled with false hope because I fucking love this team and will support them to the end. I suggest all of you to do the same.

Second year in a row that PV ends the season in the first leg. This year, he thought “ok, I’ll go for it” and leaves all day long on the counter, even pushing tempo when down to 10 men. At 1-0 you still have a series. Getting blown out 3-0 and then 4-1, well...lot of time to think.

Credit to CLB, took their chances (unlike NYCFC who can’t finish - like the SAME DAMN PROBLEM all year) and put in the dagger when they had to. Look for a sluggish second leg, a 2-1 (or even 3-1) NYCFC victory, and a long offseason.

That's the kind of spirit that seems to be lacking from this fanbase. I'll scream my fucking heart out in the stands instead of lose hope. 4-0 in NYC, call me a hopeless optimist, but I'll keep believing.

Next games lineup should be:
Lewis Villa Harrison

Herrera Maxi Ring

Sweat White Brillant Struna

Johnson
