If we want MLS teams and fans to care about this tournament they mighty actually have to advertise and have the dates for their matches released like the UEFA champions league.

This will help, but we still have a timing challenge. There is just too big a gap from qualifying at the end of this year to starting play 2/3 of the way through next year to playing in the final rounds 1/3 of the way through the following year.

That just sucks all the air out of it. Without the seasons overlapping more directly it will be hard to generate the same enthusiasm you see for CL in Europe where everyone qualifies one year and then plays the following year.

They do do it.

Our seasons run at different times so someone will always be screwed.
