COVID-19 - Leagues Suspended

I haven’t read through the entire thread, but several NYCFC players tested positive?

Yes, According to the Athletic, but it seems like it was a while ago.
I’m pretty sure they were bringing up old news to stir the pot since the league is going forward with their plans. The club announced those infections. I’m sure they’ll publicize future ones as well. With the players already headed to Florida we’d know who they were if they didn’t show.

no they didnt. They announced that an NYCFC staff member had gotten positive result. Then the head PR person announced she had it, we dont know if that was the person the nycfc annoucement was referring to. The athletic is saying that there were players that had it but are now fully recovered, nycfc never mentioned those.
it is "old news" but its news we never knew. going forward im sure they will as it makes more sense to announce since they all going into a bubble.

Ah, gotcha. Well we almost hit 9,000 cases yesterday. They’re shutting down bars once again. It’s likely the source of a lot of the cases. Would explain the high number of younger people who are testing positive.

The Third Rail usually distributes scarfs and membership cards at the first couple of home games. They also have an option to get them delivered for a fee, but I don't think many people choose that. They couldn’t do the distribution this year because of the virus, so they sent an email today asking people to pay $7 shipping (the standard price), but you can also pay less, or nothing and they’ll still ship it to you. They had a rainy day fund set aside. I’m impressed.

How is the mask wearing down there?
Sorry, I missed your post. Really good. Grocery store we’re getting 99% compliance. Kind of upset seeing the videos online of people getting harassed in stores and others recording. People are definitely losing their jobs. You can’t touch your customers.
It’s not our job to uphold laws. I like the direction our company took. Approach people, remind them of the ordinance, offer a mask (they sent us a bunch) and if they refuse just walk away. They’re not required to disclose any illness or underlying condition that prevents them from wearing one. There’s no reason for us to get into an altercation over a mask. I get that people are upset that there are customers in the store not wearing masks but there’s nothing we can really do. For the safety of the employees just leave those pricks alone. Most of them are just looking for trouble. The guy in the Walmart that got knocked down a few times will likely receive a nice settlement. I’m not sure of the laws up there or in the states where these videos are from but in Florida it’s against the law to record on private property. That includes a grocery store. So if something would happen and people begin recording and they share that video online anyone that didn’t authorize consent can take that person to civil court.

That was a godawfully painful match to watch. Both teams god dead lucky with goals, and the rest was just disjointed and bad. The only goal that was pretty was the one that sealed it for Bremen, and then they gave up a completely stupid penalty at the other end.

was in my local hardware store over the weekend. Guy didn’t have a mask on. Everyone just stared him down and kept as much distance as possible. Someone must have finally said something to him
From the store. He waited outside while they grabbed something for him.
