Dallas - Postmatch

Had you asked me yesterday, I'd have been thrilled with a point out of this game. Maybe now a little disappointed because of how it happened, but we got the result we needed. The players looked completely exhausted at full time -- Dome might have to rotate a bit to get a result against Atlanta.

Unless Philadelphia rallies in New Jersey, at this point, a win vs Atlanta almost puts the 1-seed to bed. This was a great result for us. Beat Atlanta and we might already be clinched atop the East on Wednesday.

Not much to say. we went in and controlled the game for about 20 minutes.. then we started dropping like flies from injuries and heat exhuastion.

one stupid mistake and we got punished.

overall after the first 30 minutes we played tired and confused with no real possession and constantly losing the ball cheaply.

man of the match for me is SJ. made some good saves and didn't give up any rebounds, which was huge.

let's hope anton and parks are ok and will be cleared to play on wednesday. thank god we chartered for this trip.

worried about maxi's conditioning too and everyone else for that matter. playing in that kind of heat is extremely draining... and 2 days to recover just isn't enough.

Disappointment. However, not too unhappy either.

...Ring is 100% to blame for the tie, though. Johnson a bit as well, but mostly I give it to Ring.

And the Red Bulls beat Philly 2-0. So I think (check my math on this), but I think we clinch the 1-seed with a win and a Philly loss/tie at San Jose on Wednesday.

Imagine if those last two games were to mean nothing? That would be incredible.

Correct. Beating Atlanta puts NYC at 61 and ATL at 54 with 2 games left. ATL would not be able to catch NYC. PHL is on 52 with 3 games left and would have to win out to tie NYC and then it would go down to tiebreakers. So a tie at SJ would then clinch first for NYC.

This is how it looks with 3 to go. With games vs ATL & PHI, destiny is in our own hands.

Technically just a win vs ATL would basically seal it. Philly's max right now is 61, and we would be on 61... Unfortunately, this means if we lose the final two and philly wins their final three, they'd go ahead on # of wins. However, the chances of philly winning all three remaining and us losing those two remaining are... slim

Yes, a win vs ATL basically seals it, but it wouldn't be official unless Philly drops one more point.

I just did quick math:
A tie vs ATL + a loss vs philly....
As long as we win in NE, these results would also see us into first place!

i just want everyone to be healthy after this game. a lot of questions that need to be answered. hope it'll be good news. wednesday is gonna be a battle. hope the crowd turns out to give proper support.. but midweek game.. gonna be tough. only saving grace is its last game and fan appreciation stuff.

So they are literally going right from the stadium to the plane and will be home later tonight, right? Such a good decision with playing 90+ in that heat and with the possible injuries.

Winning in NE is a big big ask. Tying in NE is going to be a big ask.
I don't think so. We played well in dallas for the beginning. NE has been slightly floundering of late, tying to RSL at home. We are playing in regular altitude, regular temperature we're used to. We might even have heber most of the match! I think we get the win there.
