I still think his first goal at MTL was his best of the season. The man had no angle. It shouldn't have been possible.

This was pretty good. My one critique would be that I wish it didn't show the blocked or missed goals in the beginning. Maybe show some of the many skill moves he's pulled off, then end with all the goals and assists.

How do you figure? The post first says "will be playing", and then continues by saying "Fan XI selections are not necessarily included on the game day roster. Mastroeni will select the roster based on player availability and tactical considerations".

That sounds like a whoooooole lot of question marks as opposed to a definitive starter slot to me.

oh i just assumed the fan vote were starters like the mlb all star game, of course mls has to be different

The fans pick 11 players, the commissioner has two picks, finally the Colorado coach (who will be coaching the game) has 9 picks to make up the 22 man roster. If ANY player is injured, they would be replaced. Thus someone on the fan 11 may not be in the gameday lineup. The fan 11 is not the starting up. The coach picks from the 22 who will be the starting 11, though everyone, even 3 goalies, play in the match. 11 subs at halftime and more in the second half.

I doubt he will play more than 45 minutes. Villa should be available for selection on August 1 - he came here to win a championship.

Credit to him - I've seen players on teams really down tools, or just hardly try when they're playing with duffers, or things aren't going their way. Villa always seems to be working hard, whether he knows it's because he's of a higher standard than all those around him, or because he's an ambassador for the club and if we are to start off on the right foot, he will play a big part in it.
