David Villa Sanchez [Forward]

There was a *lot* of "athlete interview" cliché in there, but it was still good to hear Villa speaking on his time here.
That's honestly why I haven't listened yet. Actual candor is difficult to extract from these situations.

His first game of the ‘19 season with Kobe ended in a 1-0 loss to Osaka. Next match is March 2nd vs Sagan Tosu who was just throttled 4-0 so he should have a good opportunity to get on the scoresheet.

Villa continued his streak of scoring in home openers last weekend in a 1-0 win against Tosu, the match mentioned by Ulrich Ulrich. Another win today against Sendai puts the club at 2W1L for 6 points and 5th in the 18-team J1 league.

Here are the highlights for the first three matches, with timestamps for Villa shot sequences:
@Cerezo Osaka on Feb. 22 (2:05)

v.Sagan Tosu on March 2 (1:55, 2:57, 4:10) Yes, that's Fernando Torres playing for Tosu. Attendance of 25,172 for Kobe's home opener -- hope we can come close this afternoon.

@Vegalta Sendai on March 10 (3:56, 4:22) Moment of silence observed for the lives lost in the March 11, 2011 earthquake and resulting tsunami.

And here are Iniesta and Villa in a video taken during their preseason trip to LA. If subtitles don't show up, they can be turned on by clicking on the "gear" icon -- to the left of the volume indicator.

Shower thoughts for y’all this morning: we all know to pronounce his name is Dah-veed. Not Daye-vid. But have you ever heard of any instances where anyone has called him… Dave? And would it be pronounced Daye-ve or Dah-ve.
