I think I asked this before: can anybody name a solvent top league team in any sport who had 2 head coaches/managers quit in consecutive years? I imagine it probably has happened before but I cannot think of any.

lol what? liga mx teams do this all the time.

This isn't a top league. This is a middle-of-the-pack league in the world, if even that. Just because it's in America doesn't make it a top league.

December 11, 2013: Jason Kreis announced
November 2, 2015: Jason Kreis fired
November 9, 2015: Patrick Vieira announced
June 11, 2018: Patrick Vieira departs
June 11, 2018: Dome Torrent announced
November 8, 2019: Dome Torrent departs

History would state that NYCFC/CFG is quick to announce these things. Wonder how long we'll wait. Offseason roster building starts within 2 weeks so the head coach would probably want to be included in that.

might be a hot take, but I really don't blame the FO for this.

no but their actions dont help. they do delay on transfers and if its true heber was 8th option then why is FO not able to catch that a top 3? Where was Mitri in the list then? im not saying blow it all on one DP but CFG doesnt really need to be frugal.

EDIT: there are holes to fill, well see how quick they are to fix them and not wait till three weeks in to fix them.

So it's beginning of november... CCL starts in february. that gives us 2.5 months to find a head coach to even remotely have a chance at preparing for CCL. That's not a lot of time. so who will be doing the interim job if we don't have a head coach by CCL time? and if not by CCL time, then basically the new guy won't really have a true preseason either.

sigh... gonna be a rough season

I hope the new guy will continue with Dome's tactics at the start till there's more time to implement his own.

Tough to compare Vieira leaving and Kreis firing though considering Vieira was clearly planning on leaving and it was in season so we needed a replacement right away.
