Y’all really want to go for the gay-slur-shouting anger management prospect? Nah

I do think Red Bull fans heads would explode if her was our manager since he's "One of theirs" but It's probably not the best move for various reasons included the stated above

David Villa comes back as player / manager

lol nah, i feel like he has own issues with the FO. if the dome vs villa rumors are true then he is less likely to come back as that since FO took dome's side on that one.

I think this article sums it up nicely. Once I knew Dome was to come to NYC I felt it was more by appointment than an actual desire. Dome just never ever looked like he wanted to be there and made next to no effort to appeal to fans. That said, he did his job extremely well given the tools he had at his disposal. I say that a bit tongue-in-cheek given the resources are CFG and Sheik Mansour, but NYC clearly only gets a tiny sliver of that global pie, with big bro MCFC getting the lion's share (rightfully so).

I have to wonder as well if the intensity of NYC fans got to him. We can be extremely rough but, hey, that's just how it is here. I will miss him, and I think he did extremely well for us. I see him continuing in the CFG/Guardiola machine and would not be surprised if he gets involved with Girona FC, now majority-owned by CFG and Pere Guardiola (Pep's brother).

But yeah, this sucks. Still no stadium, now no rudder and surely some transitional suffering into next season.

Big name is van Bronckhorst or Arteta with my money on v. B. He was a full back so I'm excited to see how Scally can develop with him and if Mata can improve or he decides to cut bait.

What does everyone think is a reasonable time for the team to hire a new coach and not have ill effects from this during the offseason? I'm thinking December 1 is a good deadline. Gives the new coach most of the offseason to get his visa and find his assistants, probably is 5-6 weeks away from the start of training camp, and right in the middle of the signing period for new players.

In the half moment between reading your question and your answer in the next sentence I thought 2 weeks. Reading your answer I agree end of the month (aka 3 weeks) is fine, but I'm not sure they should need more than 2 weeks unless their preferred candidate takes a long time to decide. But I'm fine with EOM.
