MLS Fantasy Round 8

ah i forgot that you can change the cap, stupid if you ask me. If you lock the roster you should lock the captain. I mean its not hard to figure out who you captained after a few games. 1st of all logic dictates you are capping a favorable matchup, 2nd I can still do the maths and see when your cap played or didn't play to a degree of certainty and whittle my guess down further.

And if it does come down to your scenario (btw the defender is superfluous information all you had to do was dueling captains and lock in the win by matching captains) then its not really fair to the guy who sets his team and goes off to do real life stuff vs someone who is a diehard fantasy player who is glued to their screens. Its tantamount to giving someone 1 free roster change post lock if say a surprise injury occurs or like your scenario he lucked into a guaranteed win by changing his lineup.
You can also switch players between lineup and bench if their lineups haven't posted after the first game starts, but doing so turns off auto subs.
And I threw in the defender just to forestall the objection of "how often will you and your opponent have exactly 2 players left, and in common, but captain different guys?" But yeah it was largely superfluous.

Curious why, with unlimited transfers and a DGW, you should pay defenders on the road against FCD and Tor?

Well 1st I like to go against the grain when it's unlimited transfers. I stated my opinion on DGWs. Watch many of these players not put in a full 90 this weekend. Opara has been money and I just have this hunch about Chicago, no real facts to back it up.

You're way out ahead of me so far this week, but I remember watching the game and thinking (so far) thank god I didn't pick Wondo:
(credit to Seth for finding the video)
I sort of hedged by picking both Wondo and 2 Revs defenders and the Revs GK. On the whole, that Wondo flub gained me more points than it cost me by preserving the NE shutout.

Just heard on the Toronto-Chicago broadcast, as the Fire are now down 2-0: "Chicago has yet to win away from home."

Mine and adam adam's defensive points gone up in flames lol

Love the tail end of that video, 'a rare whiff.' You sure about that?

I keep forgetting about early games. They're killing me. I have Adi rostered because I didn't think there was a game till Friday. I started vacation Thursday so I figured I'd jump on then and do some tinkering. Nope. Need to set an alarm for next week.

There's no good answer to the DGW conundrum. It does seem that players are more likely to play big minutes in both games later in the season, which is an argument for not going DGW heavy this round. But you never know, and the lure is strong.

DGW H/H = x2 multiplier
DGW H/A = x1.5 multipler
DGW A/A = no multiplier

That's my system anyway. I went with New England players last week because both their games were at home. Did not select any SJE players because both of theirs were on the road - in fact, took Houston players who were hosting SJE's second game in four days.
