The big show kicks off Friday, June 7.

Favorites to win it all include the USA, France, Germany and England. Australia lurks as a dark horse. This will probably be the most competitive WWC in many cycles, as many European nations are catching up to the USA's quality.

There's a strong probability that USA and France will meet in the quarterfinals, in which case the winner of that match will be favored to win the tournament.

Been looking forward to this for a while now. Almost wore the USA Women jersey to the match tonight be went with the white NYCFC jersey instead.

Oh yeah, the white Women's kit is fly. I was quite taken with it while at the friendly v Mexico. I may pick one up.
100% agree. Got the white men's cut USA women's jersey. Three stars included.

I'm running my WWC bracket challenge office pool! Really looking forward to it.

Is there enough interest and commentary from the Forums worthy to create multiples threads for groups or stages? Or should we just keep everything in this one?

There's probably interest for separating them out now but I'm thinking that maybe in a few years when folks want to refer back to this one as we're talking about the next one coming up in 2023 one we'd be happier to have it all in one place.

Germany v China ended 1-0 to Germany, but that match was a war. The Chinese players were just crushing the Germans with tackles throughout, and the ref wasn't carding anyone. Germany looked very surprised that they weren't dominating. If China could have generated more shots to compliment their very good midfield and defensive play the match easily could have ended in a draw.

I got tickets to that very QF!

While I am in favor of VAR, the whole issue of refusing to raise the offside flag until we see whether the play ends in a goal or not has gotten way out of hand. A whole bunch of these incidents really affected the flow of the AUS v ITA match.

If the attacking player is clearly offside at, like, midfield just raise the damn flag.
