Argentina
Croatia
Iceland
Nigeria

Strongest group of four teams, by far in my opinion. Anyone of these teams can go on, but I'm feeling a revamped Argentina (new coach and Messi is Messi) tops it, followed by Croatia. Iceland impresses and excites, but falls just short. Nigeria shows potential but lack of experience lets them down.

I am surprised that the forum is quiet with the WC 2018
must be the time difference.
I am exhausted trying to keep up with all the games late and early hours, I have no energy to spare. I am falling asleep as I write this post ! Lol

here are my favorite teams : in my heart to win the cup
Uruguay
Germany
Spain
Brazil
England
Argentina
France
Brazil

and the ones that are growing on me

Portugal
Poland ,
Costa rica
Russia

The rest are The ones I don"t care about about

Argentina's situation isn't as dire as it may seem, although they didn't do themselves any favors by imploding and letting in those last two goals.

Argentina will most likely have to beat Nigeria, of course.* If they do that, Argentina will almost certainly finish above Nigeria, meaning it comes down to what Iceland does in its other two games. If Iceland get
  • 4 or more points, they will finish above Argentina;
  • 3 points, they will tie, and it comes down to goal differential (not good for Argentina);
  • 2 points or fewer, they'll be below Argentina.
So, Argentina basically have to take care of business against Nigeria and hope Iceland doesn't win any games.

* - there is a scenario in which Nigeria tie both Argentina and Iceland and Iceland loses to Croatia; in that case, there would be a three-way tie for 2nd at 2 points each. This is highly unlikely and bad for Argentina anyway given goal differential.
