Fights Between Nycfc And Cosmos Fans ?

I'm well aware and it's likely the same with hooligans/casuals. I don't claim to be an expert and don't go out of my way to read hoolie lit but on occasion I come across an article about casuals or firms in a magazine or online and they generally claim to not target normal fans.

That's a pretty interesting concept. I honestly don't know much about hooligans culture but it'd be pretty cool to read up on it.

I have no issue if two groups knowingly and willingly accept whatever consequences that may come with their behavior as long as they keep others clear of it. But as we said, that's a pipe drram.

I'm glad those POS borough boys decided to be hypocrites and support the Cosmos. Don't want this team to be affiliated with any group like that.
Yeah, the "accused" Cosmos supporters aren't just random f**kers. They're prominent members of two of their supporters clubs. One actually has a banner at matches made up of scarves stolen from away supporters.

Maybe it's the way I was raised (amongst humans) but I was taught one of the lowest things you can do is go after "scarfers" -- fans who are just there to enjoy the match and aren't looking for trouble. It's cowardly and should be humiliating for the people doing it.

I don't want to see the same game played by our supporters.

Going after a group who can defend themselves and are ready for trouble is a different matter. I may be too old for that s**t, but I respect it.

Was at the porta johns near the cosmos supporters section and saw AndreT_NY get harassed by a young cosmos fan for walking by in his jingle hat. Would have been me if you didn't walk by honestly. Kid got in my face after i repeatedly said I'm just hear to watch a soccer game. Never said a word other then that. They're forever second tier so they need to make themselves relevant. Pathetic really.
All the boys were outside that s**thole of a stadium for hours before the match, right were we all said we'd be. Notice not one Cosmos fan said one word to us.

So their tough guy BS is just that.

Was there any trouble at RBA ? Are we expecting any next Sunday? Or is it really just the Cosmos fans that think their New York's answer to Millwall or something?

All of this is so sad. Sorry to the fans that got attacked. There is really no reason to ever attack another person and of the list of reasons doing it over what soccer team you cheer for is really one of the dumbest I can think of.

I can't imagine there'd be any trouble with RedBull.

I hope people won't replicate the Cosmos behavior of ambushing fans who are just there to party. We're better than that!

I'd like to think your right. I've been at the Harlem Metro North connection after a match and there were one or two people in Red Bull gear and probably a hundred of our fans and no one harassed them.

There were a few very minor incidents and a lot of banter at RBA last time, but nothing like what happened with the Cosmos.

There's very little more ridiculous, sad and baffling than assaulting someone because they root for a different sports team. If you do, you are a life hooligan and likely a criminal.

I was near the entrance to our supporters section. Security just let some old fat fuck decked out in Cosmos gear walk over there. I didn't say anything because at first it looked like he was there because he knew someone or something of that sort. Of course that lasted about two minutes.

It pretty obviously was devolving, so I started shouting for security. It probably took a good minute of them straight up ignoring me before they finally moseyed over and way too carefully got that guy out of there.

I'm with others - far better to have some rules to abide by than to be a damn free for all like that place was. All they attempted to do was make us a sitting duck. I honestly didn't mind f Cosmos. I didn't even think about them. After that display, they can go fuck themselves.

I'd recommend a boycott of any future matches there. Our FO and. USSF should demand they get their shit together. It's a total dump, and the field is worse than the stadium. It's unsafe due to their jackass wannabe supporters, and it ruins the experience of what should have been a wonderful match.

As for our supporters, I wish folks would learn that less is more. Fewer chant/song attempts, slower pace of the songs, less reliance on things like "fuck off Cosmos".

We have people in the supporter section more concerned with waving their new flag or poster than watching our club. I didn't even see the second goal because of stupid ass section drama.

I don't get the need to be front and center constantly starting a half ass song, usually at inappropriate times. Of course, you can't blame the guys starting it. A fair few of them probably see less than 1/3 of the match.

That field looked horrible on TV, that super old turf is total crap. Many high schools have better turf.

If you and other folks want the FO to take action on this, then people who attended and had experiences like this need to write up what happened and send them to the FO and ticket reps now. If you wait until we draw them again next year you will all forget the details and it will also be too late for the team to do anything.

I can confirm it.
Some fucker hit me from behind grabbed a horn ripped it off and ran.
I chased him into the Cosmos Supporters section someone took a swing at me and I was kicked out by Security
Then someone stole the rest of the hat.

I know of someone whose shoe was taken, eyeglasses, scarves, water bottles thrown from the stands as we were leaving, and rocks in the parking.

You know real pussy stuff hiding in the groups of fans behind the laughable stadium security.
As much as I dislike violence...carry a knife. Stupid people eventually learn the lesson that you never really know who youre messing with. If some idiot wants to get physical, Im not the only one whos going to get hurt real bad. Protect yourselves, because you dont know what idiots will try to do to you at a sporting event.

Aside from being a respectful person, I dont screw with random people because I know theres no way of knowing what the outcome will be. Its a shame a lot of stupid people dont learn this, and put themselves in bad situations.

This sounds brilliant.

Until you pull your knife and the other guy pulls a knife or gun. Sorry but WTF.

I'm a NYer. The best advice I know is know your surroundings. Don't go into danger spots. And if you find yourself in a questionable place get the fuck out at max speed.

Call me weak or whatever you want but in the words of the immortal Rodney King (look him up youngins) "Can't we all just get along?"

ive been taught just to give in. if a robber wants to steal your wallet, just give it to him. its not worth getting stabbed or shot over just to save 40$.

also in a situation where a soccer hooligan is on attack:
  1. SCREAM "NYC AINT NOTHING TO FUCK WITH"
  2. deal with opponants
  3. leave when opponants are are terminated

Yes, by all means diffuse and deescalate if you can. But sometimes people just want to hurt you and won't stop until they do. Many people need to learn this reality and be prepared to fight and protect themselves if it comes down to it.

So your advice is to get beat up? Great advice.

Tons of people have been hurt or killed despite knowing their surroundings. So why shouldnt people protect themselves? If 3 guys surprise you and try to jump you despite you being in what should have been a safe area...just how are you getting away at max speed? Youre the kind of guy that would be a victim potentially in a hospital while the criminals get away without learning a lesson.

Me on the other hand, if I end up in the hospital, Im taking someone with me. Self preservation calls for me to protect myself at all costs. And Im saying that to you as a guy who grew up in the city and has been in some unsavory circumstances. Some people don't want to "all just get along" with you.

PS - What suburban hooligan is pulling a gun at a soccer match? Be realistic. When was a fan ever shot at a professional soccer game in the USA. When ever or how often has that even happened?

PPS - You forget there are lawful people in this country with concealed carry permits. As much as I hate the gun violence in this country, if hooliganism gains ground in our nation, one of those idiots will be dead in the news soon enough. This aint Europe.
