That's really not bad at all. I think most seats on that side of the field on the 200 level give you a great view and great value.

Also, I agree with the reseating process. I'm guessing once they move to a SSS they will try to get you as close to what you had as possible (if you want it) but will largely be based on existing seniority. Which is fine with me because our seniority is only going to get better as each year passes and I did a deposit on day one.
Same here. I wonder how we know that they are respecting our priority? I don't have any reason to doubt it, but it would be nice to know the logistics.

Will all day 1 people share the first window and so forth?

Depends on the number of people, just go in order until you get to the end.

Looks like this is where I tap out of the vote. Don't want my 'choice' to skew serious results. I'm still on board with NYCFC Social and will continue do what I can to keep the group going. These particular sections are outside where I and the person/people associated w my second deposit want to commit to.

Boo! We're looking thin for seating.

Should still allow us to connect with a few other folks near wherever anyone sits though.

Next time we start a group for a new MLS team, it'll be a totalitarian regime. ;)

I think this is tough, since seat selection is a very personal decision made for a variety of reasons. Can't knock anyone for not going with where they feel comfortable, for any reason.

Maybe we need a vote on a meetup bar beforehand. We should have a couple hours between work getting out and kickoff. We can try to avoid insanely loud music and $20 drinks. Sounds like that's something everyone here can agree on.

I believe the point of this group was to catch the game in a more relaxed setting but with fellow passionate supporter's, but still be more of a part of The Third Rail. Since they will have a pre-game bar, picking a different bar would go against that mission.

I thought this was a more low key group under the Third Rail umbrella. Are we not allowed to have a low key get together before a match, that's not in a packed madhouse across the street from Yankee Stadium? Or at the very least meet up in a venue of our own, then make our way to the "Official Third Rail Venue" before the match to participate in the "Official Third Rail March"? I didn't realize when I payed my Third Rail dues I gave up my rights to meet up anywhere but at one pre-designated venue.

you don't give up the right to do anything lol you can do whatever you want just because you're a paid third rail member doesn't mean you have to do everything third rail related. DO YOU!

I think we can let it play out. I figure we'd often have a more low key meet up, not to undermine them, but because of a desire for being a bit more casual. I'm a paid TR, so I am supporting them and will attend all of their stuff that fits my schedule.

If we have a smaller secondary place for folks wanting a less rowdy atmosphere, I don't think they'll be offended. Will post more later. Sorry for being short. I get what you're saying, and don't mean to be dismissive. Work is tight for today.

MM -- did you get the sense that being in Row 1 of the section would present a visibility problem with the railing?
Only if you're shorter than Jason Kreis. The rails are around thigh height. I like the front row because it means I don't risk people spilling stuff or tousling hair into my beer. I have a lot of germ phobias. Yes, I should probably seek help.

So it looks like 215 has an insurmountable lead of 2 votes. We have 10 people who voted.

Can we get a count as to who is actually going to commit to sitting together and how many tickets?
Even though I voted 205, I'll roll with the majority here assuming y'all commit as well.
I have 2 seats.

As others have mentioned, we could slide down a section or two as well if that's a consensus desire. It's pretty much a wash to me, and I think 215 has some ease of access positives. From that perspective, unless it's just an overwhelming call to move, my inclination is to stick with 215.

Just to reiterate, whether you want to sit with us or not, you're more than welcome to participate in anything we do whether or not you lay any TR dues. Please follow us on twitter and/or be email nycfcsocial at gmail to join our distribution list.

If any of you want to help out spreading our name and message by helping admin our social media presence, please let me know. I'd love for our accounts to be more active. Maybe we could do a closed Facebook group? I'm for it, I just don't want to police it.

Back to your bar discussion, our whole mission is just to offer a slightly less rambunctious alternative that is more conducive to bringing guests or less fervent fans (like a girlfriend or work colleague) while still being around other guys who love the club, game and having fun. It's a buffet style group: just take all you want of whatever you want and leave the rest.

Some days, I'll probably go all out and get crazy with TR. Other times, I definitely want a more chill/less crowded alternative. If we communicate other options, we're just offering additional ways for people to be and feel involved in supporting the club.

I hope that makes sense. I promise you that no one involved in our planning wants anything other than to support the club and make our in stadium and surrounding activities as welcoming and enjoyable as possible. Sit with us or TR, drink with us or TR (or both, as I will), you're still welcome to be a part of Social to whatever extent that means to you. We're not about taking a slice of the pie, we're about making the pie bigger.

I have 4 seats, I'm still undecided,as my preference changes almost hourly.

There are a couple of sections in the 100's that still hold my interest, but having a group of people around you,who you know will be into the game as much as you are, remains a great draw for 215 (or 214)

I had my deposit in day 1 almost immediately,so I should have a great shot at row 1's, regardless of where I finally end up picking.

Also going in with the goal of bringing an alternating rotation of friends, family & coworkers to the games, to see if I can get more people into the MLS, having that atmosphere around will also help.

While more laid back then the supporters section, I'm not sure if it would be to intense of an environment for my 8 year old niece and goddaughter, she plays soccer and is very outgoing....so who knows, she might actually dig it! LOL

I'll play it by ear,if it looks like alot will commit to the section,it would weigh heavily into my final decision.

Sections I'm still considering
215/214
014a/b
205
103/104
125
136

I am leaning towards sitting with you guys right now with my two seats. I am still undecided officially as I keep changing my mind, but right now you guys are the front-runner if you switch over to 214 or 213.

I'm down with switching it over. The one thing we haven't considered though is the relative level of difficulty of getting seats near each other.

I put my deposit in around 6 or 7 pm on day 1. I'd bet a lot of super early depositors will be in supporters section. I guess whoever has the earliest window can let us all know what it looks like.

I'll call the guys this week and further discuss our chances of getting some sort of block. I'm not super confident, but who knows.

I'm 90% sitting in 205. I have two seats and also have two other friends looking to sit right next to mine. Heard a few other people are also interested so it could be a decent section in it's own right.

That section is still in consideration, 215/214 got the vote nod for the shade options, but the view does look damn good.
