Finding a home for supporters

This is only a thread about finding a base for fans to meet up. If we're proposing to have one base per borough I think it also makes sense to have a base or two outside the city limits. It's the stadium which needs to be inside NYCFC, not the fans. If we only permitted fans who live in the 5 boroughs, this forum would be half as busy as it is.

I agree 100%. I'm from NJ and I think it would be cool to have a bar here somewhere for away games

Well, now that we know where the team will be playing for at least 3 years, I think we should look into going to the bars around Yankee Stadium to find a bar to call home. We will be able to March to the Match from there.

As for watching away games, there can be multiple bars for that. I suggest one in Manhattan, just because it is a central hub. We should be able to find that bar on our pub crawl on the 26th.

Billy's and Stan's are both also very good places for us to pregame at before matches

they are right across from the stadium but also when they build our new stadium there will be a sth members bar inside the stadium I was told so I assume a lot of us will we go there as well but thats a few years down the road

We could all walk over from the McDonald's...

Someone posted about talking about Westchester. I think we should have a discussion about a place to watch the games as a unit in White Plains and Stamford??

I'll say the same thing I said on the Facebook page. The Mad Hatter is first and foremost a Man City bar, I think it's incredibly important for us to have our own identity as the more the club is associated with Man City the more it will detract people who are fans of other clubs.

The fundamental flaw in your thinking is that NYCFC IS associated with MCFC & always will be. NYCFC is a club that is directly related to MCFC. You cannot disassociate with MCFC. I understand this may not sit well with supporters of other PL clubs, but it is what it is.

Not disassociating with MCFC, just trying to keep the two separate.
Hard to keep separate when the club is a direct product of MCFC, the coach spent months at MCFC learning the ropes, players will be loaned from MCFC, funding comes from MCFC, the announcement introducing NYCFC was made by MCFC, the initial video promoting NYCFC was made featuring MCFC players and filmed during MCFC's tour of the US last year, the colors of NYCFC include MCFC's sky blue....need I go on? NYCFC is and will always be, by definition, associated with MCFC. It isn't NY united, NY Arsenal, NY Bromwich Albion, NY spurs etc. It is NY CITY FC.

I still think that, once the team comes to actually starting their matches next season, you guys will rapidly forget the MCFC link. For a few games you'll say "oh, that's the MCFC youth who set up that goal" or "you can see that they're trying to make this team play like MCFC" but I reckon after only a month or two you'll be saying "oh, that's our loan player who scored that amazing chipped goal" or "you can really see the NYCFC style of play shining through".

It's like American products over here. We occasionally moan that, say, the American burger culture is fattening us all up with all their McDonalds and KFCs, but 99% of the time, when I go to McDonalds I'm not thinking "I really want some American burger grease", I'm thinking "I quite fancy a hamburger right now". The fact that it may or may not be from the American food culture rather than the British one is a complete non-entity in my mind as I eat.

Yes, the link will always be there, and if you want to look for it it will never be hard to find, and to either praise or criticise depending on your inclinations. But if you stop looking for it, you'll forget it's there, and that's the way it should be IMO.

The flaw in your thinking is that you're an MCFC fan. I don't want to hear it when your picture is you wearing your jersey. I don't have a PL team... I still don't want MCFC stuffed down our throats. Not because I care one way or the other about the club, but because that's what's best for the success of THIS club. If its MCFC Jr. A) we'll be a laughingstock. B) You're closing the doors on thousands of potential fans.

The 100 MCFC New Yorkers that go to the Mad Hatter can't fill a stadium.

I appreciate the compliment but that's Aguero, not me in the kit. Regardless of who I support the facts I listed are indisputable. There will always be the connection. The supporters club may not recognize it but the club sure as shit does. It's really not that serious though. The 100 hatter blues may not fill the stadium but we definitely have the club's ear. No worries. It's all good
