Galaxy Postmatch

Agree to disagree. Mikey Lopez and Fed Bravo have done a pretty decent job of killing of games for us.
Omg. Hanging on for dear life and hoping the other team fucks up dead ball situations (with our filler situation???) Is not killing off a game. It's life support while you wait for a compatible organ at best.

First, I'd like a quote on the 6 thing. And secondly, yet again, when has he been given a chance to do a single dimensional role.

Frankly, I feel like the "facts" that you point out are all in support of what I've been saying. Hell, I posted 3 months ago Mix was our best like for like in any of the 3 defined roles we seem to have now. I stand by it. He's just never gotten a chance with any of those clearly defined roles.

I hate to constantly point out posting something first. Shit guys. Get smarter or quicker than me.

More than that, I think. Probably 6-8 points squandered.

Attribution is a weird thing, though.
i went through games and most of the second half leads we blew featured primarily offensive substituions. our last game against columbus is a great example of this. it is not a big sample size but there was even a late lead that was blown with mix subbing in. if you want to get yourself upset, you should see our record when mikey lopez subs on when we have the lead.

Too sleep deprived to do too much searching, but it was an interview he gave at the start of this season where he was reflecting on last season and how JK played him essentially at wing. He then said he sees himself as a 6 and that is where he thrives. He said it again somewhere too - maybe a segment where fans ask him questions, and one of them was what his favorite position is. Doesn't change your points much, which are good ones - he would/could make a solid like for like replacement starter, particularly down the stretch.

To be fair on the Columbus game, our third substitution happened when we were down 2-1.

yes but the arguement is that we blow late leads because of defensive substitutions and bunkering down. We occasionally blow a late lead, but not because we bunker down.

I specifically asked Mix when I saw him at Upper90 this past winter what he feels is his best position. Answer: a 6.

Someone else gave you a quote on the "6" thing. So I'll leave at that since you're wrong.

Tell us who you would like to see Mix replace in the midfield? There's no reason to give him a chance. He's a one dimensional player that can't beat out 3 old men in front of him.

He also said at the 2014 World Cup that his favorite player was Pirlo hands down. That explains, I think, the type of 6 he believes himself to be.

I'd be perfectly happy to have him sub for Pirlo when the Maestro is not in the Starting XI, but that doesn't happen very often.

Has Pirlo missed a game this year?
