Game Of Thrones (spoilers)

TBF they have to cut out quite a bit of stuff to save on production costs which are probably ridiculous already.

I feel like the show's typical arc is the first three seasons are exposition and the 4th episode some event happens that drives the rest into action - can I go season bu season to verify this ... nope but I always feel like the first few are slow. Knowing the books and story helps me get through these because I know what's coming (cue dick dastardly-style laughter) and can enjoy the build-up ... it's generally the same with the books, but having the different narrators from different places keeps it intense - something crazy happens and you don't read about it for a while ... all that being said I think you will be impressed with what's coming.

Sunday's episode was the strongest of the season, though this season has been the weakest since season 2. I still think there is time to make up a lot of ground, especially with next week's episode "Hardhome".

Accidentally replied to book discussion. But yeah that was a sick episode!
the reason jon's sword didn't break when fighting the white walker is because it's made of Valyrian steel. So that's dragons glass and Valyrian steel that we know can kill white walkers. Valyria obviously being linked with dragons has something to do with the make of the swords and could explain things.

For those curious, here's the release dates for the books - for all intensive purposes, think of each book as one TV season now that the show has (more or less) caught up with the books.

Books 4 and 5 actually occur at the same time so there are characters (like Tyrion) that were in book 3 and didn't show up again until book 5, meaning you had to wait 11 years to find out what happened to the characters.

  • A Game of Thrones (1996)
  • A Clash of Kings (1998)
  • A Storm of Swords (2000)
  • A Feast for Crows (2005)
  • A Dance with Dragons (2011)
  • The Winds of Winter (20never)

Why the hell would he kill off Jon Snow after building him up so much? He was made out to be the central focus of the storyline, just like Tyrion and Kalisi are. Makes no sense to kill him off, especially in such a stupid way. Snow is smarter than that, he should have sensed that it was a trap.

My wife's theory is that the red witch is going to save him, that's why she's at Castle Black again. We've thought for a while that Snow is royalty, and the rightful heir. Maybe her visions were of Snow not Stannis.

Damn this show for fucking with my emotions.

That seems to be the consensus, that the Red Witch will being him back ala Beric Dondarrion - I also think that if that's the case, then since he technically dies, that wouldd absolve him of his Watch duties - plus fuck those guys now
