General MLS Discussion

I would imagine that MLS has bulk buying arrangements with one or more airlines that help keep costs under control and allow flexibility in ticketing. These often include limiting or eliminating frequent flyer miles.

Is it correct that the Revolution are now the only long tenured MLS team to have never rebranded at all?

Yes, New England Revolution are the only MLS original team (entry in 1996) to have never rebranded their logo.

If you have Athletic account, its an interesting read. Its an interview with Arthur Blank and he says most MLS teams are profitable.
He also tosses grenades at the cheap owners and ones that don’t run their clubs as if they are their only focus. He’s a fan’s owner.

what the fuck?
Picture only has 25 jerseys. All 25 have the bear claw thing.
...Chicago aren't pictured here.
Chicago don't have bear claw.

Chicago don't have bear claw.

Don't you remember they were relegated last season. Inter Miami took their place.

so wait... chicago gets a pass cause they rebranded? they're an original MLS team and they don't have to celebrate the 25th anniversary with a bear claw template? .....

MLS - making no sense since 1995

If they rebranded, then they're going to have (2) new jerseys - a primary (shown) and a secondary (not shown). Maybe the secondary will get the claw marks, but MLS wanted to push the Primary so that is what was highlighted in the article?

A small correction... They are not an original team. Founded in 1997; Inaugural season the following year.

It wouldn’t necessarily be Chicago getting a pass because they rebranded, but Adidas probably wasn’t plugged in early enough on the details of the rebrand, and therefore didn’t have enough lead time to get Chicago in this template.

That’s my guess.

They updated the photo (stupid intern!) to include the Chicago kit.
Still doesn't have bear claw, so I'm wondering if it's as Ulrich Ulrich said that since they will have 2 new jerseys, the secondary will have the bear claw. Would have just been nicer to explain that?

Is the claw sewn fabric aligned as the base layer, or sewn on top like their typical three-stripes, or is it a heat pressed stripe? If it's on top or a heat-press, then not being plugged in wouldn't stop them from picking Chicago's complimentary color and sewing/ironing it on frankenstyle.

But they love bear claws in Chicago...
