Completely radio silent. Frankly they kind of went quiet after the Florida tournament. We got the Orange County game update, then they've acted as if they never even played games they announced as being a part of. It's been a super-weird offseason and preseason. You'd think they'd want to be building excitement for Thursday, but you'd never know our season starts in four days if you're just following the team on social media.

overall in MLS its been a lot quieter than normal, mostly due to streams being geolocked or not streamed at all. we got two streams, apparently some MLS teams got none for preseason. its been weird overall not just us ( though with us its normal to do this).

i still believe we will get the injury report tomorrow as it normally tends to happen a day before the game.

I wonder if that's a result of the CBA negotiations, getting used to the new schedule, or will this be the new normal?

im assuming CBA, normally they love to hype even the arizona desert diamond cup and this year barely any peeps about it ( i forgot it even started this past weekend) as well as the other preseason cups.

I disagree about the last bit. It seems to me that we are usually guests, and are subject to the rules set by the host. Usually if it's part of a tournament there is some stream available, though access might be limited. The IMG games were streamed for a fee. The tournaments in Charleston and Arizona were streamed. The only 2 games streamed this year were in a tournament.

If it's a private event we do what the host wants, and LAFC, for example, likes things closed. We played Miami in Miami and I doubt we decided. When we did host in the UAE we could do whatever we wanted and we streamed the games against European teams. Sometimes we play college or low level pro or semi-pro teams and I don't think those have ever been streamed, probably because of concern it might be a mismatch. I think we beat one college in Florida 2 years in a row by lopsided scores and you can understand why their players might not want YouTube embarrassment fodder floating around.

So I don't think there is a normal for us because it usually at the whim of someone else, and the only time we had control, we streamed. And this won't change unless we build a retractable roof stadium we can use for offseason training, or build a warm weather training ground, neither of which is likely. I suspect we won't go to the UAE more than once every few years at the most.

all this true for streams, but i guess i should of been clear that i was mostly referring to the lack of info of injuries etc. though to be fair no one in media or anything is following the team around.

Has there been any info about tickets for this match? I'm not a season ticket holder anymore so I'd like to grab a pair. Haven't seen anything yet.

even season ticket holders have received zero info about how we get our tickets.
It’s as if they are trying to see how few fans they can get to actually attend.

anybody know what is the lowest attendance ever for a home leg of a CCL game hosted by a MLS team?

It is bizarre how little it seems like the club cares if people show up or not. You would think they'd at least put tickets up on Ticketmaster. The fact that season ticket holders still don't have info a week out is disturbing to say the least. I thought they increased the number of people in ticket sales over the off season.

I wonder what this is about. I wonder if this has anything to do with RB being an ass about using the stadium?

i dont think so. RB doesnt own it anymore, its Harrison county ( or however its officially called) is the owner of the stadium.

I think the FO is pissed at Concacaf for not allowing the NYC option they bent over backwards to make happen. So they are doing their absolute contractual minimum since CONCACAF gets all the ticket & concessions revenue. I get why the fans and FO are taking this stand, but it sucks for the players and the game in general to do so. I hope it works to convince CONCACAF to allow the next match in NYC if there's a round 2.

anyone know how best to get there from Penn Station NY? wonder if there will be shuttles to the stadium from Newark
Take the E to world trade center and the path to Harrison. That's how I'll be going.
Alternatively walk from Penn to 33rd and Sixth, and get on the PATH there to Journal Square, then switch to Harrison/Newark.
I don't think they ever have shuttles from Newark to RBA, not even on days when the stadium is packed.
