There's a huge parking lot if they open it. Getting there by Subway is easy, it just takes a while. from the city. D, F, N, or Q all the way to the last stop at Coney Island, then about a 5-minute walk to the stadium.

I mapped it out. To get from midtown Manhattan to Coney Island by 6 PM kickoff, you'd have to leave around 4:30 PM. Nuts.

Yeah it's like an hour subway ride. Nice little stadium, but Coney Island in February; you couldn't pay me to attend that.

I need to get there by car. Is that possible?

Posted on FB. Unverified. But has a lot of facts mixed in that make it feel legit to me. Also nice tie in to reyna.

thats fucking pricey for a short season A/ rookie stadium. i guess since they not really open in february they charge extra to open it all up. while cosmos played for the most part during their own regular season.

yes CCL is in no way an economic gain, neither is Gold cup i think compared to to other continental tournaments. doesnt mean we should not try to win the damn thing. as for the scaling back, i mean we were not huge huge spenders for transfer fees anyway so this is not a shock, well see how different it will be going forward. would explain the extensions, but they are not bad extension so far.

I mean, could be that word came out after they signed mitri? and also dome leaving in conjunction. I could see it being true, however we'll find out soon enough how true it really is.

If they were this close to cutting off funding, they wouldn't have OK'ed one of the league's largest transfers in history 11 months ago. It doesn't make business sense. The team isn't spending this offseason because they have one of the best rosters in the league. They've clearly decided that last postseason was a fluke and they want another kick at the can with this group. If they are cutting off funding, why is the team bulking up its front office? Why weren't high-priced players sold this offseason? It just doesn't make any sense.

Also $400K for Coney Island, a little 7,000 seat minor league stadium, makes no sense. That place hosted a rugby team that got very little attendance -- no chance that team could have afforded such a high fee for that stadium, and it strains credulity to think they're charging different teams different fees.

I don't believe a word of it - was just playing devil's advocate. Could be they spent it in hopes that it would bring people in but that didn't change anything so they figure, less money on players, more on FO? idk. I just don't think it makes sense in any case.

I actually wonder if we see an attendance bump this season. Last year was so successful, people notice. We didn't win a trophy, but finishing first in the conference is no small thing.
