Posted on FB and unverified but I heard that Principal Skinner and Claudio Reyna were in the closet at MCU Park making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me

did they kill a cat in the process? Because I’ll catch those bastards if they did!

I actually wonder if we see an attendance bump this season. Last year was so successful, people notice. We didn't win a trophy, but finishing first in the conference is no small thing.

I mentioned this in the mls transfers thread. I think yes but for other reasons. Chicharito is coming here that may bring people out. Also DC and orlando got peru NT starters amd i know the peruvians will come out to see them.

Unless of course you get nyc celtic fans coming out to games to see and cheer on deila

I would bet there will be a slight bump this year as well, but mostly because I think last season should have represented the bottom in terms of attendance. Villa was the last of the big 3 DPs to leave and last year I imagine that would have had a bit of a negative impact on attendance for any of those going to games to catch one of the big stars. So perhaps the "bump" associated with having that big name was gone last year, so that combined with the stellar season, the trend may move in the other direction.

FWIW, someone on the FB Supporters page says that the game has been confirmed for St. Johns.

Does SJU qualify under CCL standards? Was MLS/NYCFC pushing for an exemption? I see zero problem playing Tigres there if we meet them in the quarterfinals. That should go off smooth as silk.

I'm still kind of surprised they're not playing at Yankee Stadium. It's not like the ballpark is being used. I realize the attendance would be lousy, but just open up the lower level. It'll be empty for this game, but if we host Tigres you'd have to think fans would show up.

here is regulations from Last year. Pg 28, not sure if this will be same this year. Thing is inspection should of happened already based on these regulations.

"if deemed necessary". Also says club pays for inspections.

NYCFC "here's $50k and some photos from our USOC match to aid in inspections"
CCL "$50k? that should cover looking at your photos. approved." (goes home and pockets the $50k)

I'm pretty sure that's how Concacaf works.

It's better than Coney Island and quite reachable, though I agree getting there by 6 would mean leaving work early for many.
yeah, that's the main issue. I could get there in an hour but it would mean having to leave 4:30... I could just come to work earlier that day, but what a pain in the butt. And then getting home as well... bleh. At least a weekend game I could drive in to SJ..

so has it been confirmed at SJ? or are we all just taking the FB post as fact? i mean, it sounds reasonable. just sucks that our guys have to play on turf for CCL. we just aren't as good on turf.

also, sucks about the time and location. fans will be in short supply. i wonder if we had a stadium of our own if the support would show up though? Saw LAFC's preseason game had a sold out stadium and they were as loud as can be. makes me wonder if we would come out in force like that for a preseason or CCL game if we had our own stadium.

i would love to make this CCL game.. but 6pm and having to take buses is gonna be really difficult, if not impossible with work to schedule around too.
