I got the free tickets, although it was incredibly confusing. An email was sent at exactly 10 am with the instructions - which I got after already being in the queue and not knowing what the offer code was.

After figuring that out and finally getting to look at seats, the seat map didn’t work. So I chose by row. Then, it put you to a screen where you had to choose your free tickets AND there was also an option to buy more tickets. The “buy more” was auto selected and the free tickets were zero - so I had to zero out the buy more and add the free seats.

not user friendly at all.

Either they fixed it or I just had a different experience than everyone else.

I followed the directions in the email.

1) Click the link provided in the email (this takes you to ticketmaster)
2) enter the code in the popup box at the ticketmaster website and click UNLOCK button (it looks like an unlocked padlock)
3) After hitting OK, you can select your seat, which all show $10 on the side. But selecting a section and specific seat provides a popup with a choice for $0 ticket and $10 ticket. Select as appropriate. You can only have as many free tickets as you have season tickets.
4) Proceed through the ticket ordering process. If you haven't already, you will be asked to sign into ticketmaster. If you don't have a ticketmaster account, you need to create one. THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS YOUR NYCFC ACCOUNT, but you can use the same email if you wish.
5) You'll be asked to provide some information on the final order confirmation screen before officially placing your order. The process states you will not be charged at least once, if not twice (don't recall exactly)
6) BRING THE NOISE ON WEDNESDAY!

btw - where is everyone sitting? i figured i'd sit at midfield...section 126

EDIT: rewrote above in case anyone is confused.

If anyone is willing to give their ticket away, I would happily take it! Please PM me if you would be so kind. I don't care where I would be sitting, just want a ticket in the door. Thank you!

Edit: thanks canchon canchon looking forward to meeting you!

Anyone wanna get me a $10 ticket (middle of the stadium?) and I'll pay them back at the stadium? :) If not, I'll just get a ticket normally at 2.

^shamelessly adding myself to this list. Would love a free ticket, but would also be happy to buy two at 10 dollars and pay through venmo or whatever!

Think this is the step that is tripping up a lot of people - I would think this odd set up is because of Ticket Master's limitations and not on the club

FWIW, the email from the club notes that the tickets are non-transferrable. I'm not sure what actual logistical restrictions there are from allowing people to do that anyways, but it was noted.

It usually is a UPC code. I would imagine if you wanted to try you could screenshoot it and text if you know the person.

I predict that some day I will tell a grandchild I paid $25 for a 10th row midfield ticket to see an NYCFC champions league game and I will sound like I lived in an unbelievably ancient world.

Surprised about how many tickets appear to have been sold for this game. We're not going to have thousands and thousands of people there (they're only selling around half of the lower bowl), but there seem to be a pretty decent number of tickets sold.

It's hard to find a direct link on NYCFC.com, so here's the direct link if anyone needs it.

I suspect many people did what I did, which was to claim my free tickets even though scheduling makes it unlikely I can attend. If I can get out of work in time, I'll head out, but there's maybe a 20% chance of that at best. Since the tickets were free there was no reason not to claim them. But attendance might be much lower than the sold seats indicate, even more than usual.

Add in weather which looks meh right now, difficulty with ticket transfers, and another factor I won’t mention to avoid a jinx.

Any of my fellow Westchester peeps driving to this game? I can get to RBA with ease from work, but I have no idea whatsoever of how I would get home. Happy to pay for gas and tolls of anyone who could drive me anywhere in the greater lower Westchester area (the closer to Larchmont train station the better)...

That doesn’t explain the fact that the sections with an upcharge at midfield were close to sold out when I ordered yesterday. I doubt anyone forking $10 or $25 per seat will be so cavalier about (not) showing up. The SS where all the free tix are will probably be pretty sparse given the boycotts and the above reasoning, but it looks like the lower ring of midfield will be pretty full. We’ll see.

Wait wait...

What do you mean upcharge at midfield? I claimed my free ticket at lower ring midfield just fine.

Sections 125, 126 and 127 completely sold out and 11 tix left in 124 -- that's about 2100 tix claimed/sold from just those 4 sections. There should be enough people to make noise in support.

8 tickets sold in the away supporters section.
