its glenn cooks. he opened ticketmaster and it showed sold out.

when it first filled up i emailed my ticket rep to ask if they plan to open the rest of the lower bowl. She said that it is sold out and they are not opening more. When she emailed me they had opened more sections and she had no idea what she was talking about.. so NYCFC...

I'm shocked they are selling seats for $55! Those sections come w VIP access to the red bull lounge for their matches. Maybe that's the extra cost. LionNYC LionNYC you should look into that.

That journalist jumped ahead about the sold out but I mean why would NYCFC stagger the seats being sold like that? Oh NYCFC...

They were trying to fill up each section before opening up the next section. Problem is, lots of people would have checked yesterday, saw no seats available, and probably gave up or went to stubhub, so the team loses out on that revenue.

don’t all the proceeds go to Concacaf?

That's around 50-60 then right?

probably, i expect them to be in the away section of 650 spots assigned to them. i could be totally wrong, but im expecting up to 1000 max of tigres fans. there could be other liga mx fans there but not exactly tigres fans.

Pretty incredible that we got this many fans at RBA. Imagine if we played at Yankee Stadium; we probably would have been in the 20's.
I wonder if knowing that kind of number in advance would have changed things regarding stadium availability. I can see the Yankees saying they wouldn't speed up the dewinterization process just for a midweek game with 4,000 fans.

It's clear they didn't expect this kind of response, considering their "agreement" for RBA included only opening up the lower level. Had they sold out two days before the game, it's clear they would have wanted to open up more sections.

Looks to be about a dozen or so seats left in section 130 going for $65 a ticket (yikes!). who knows if there are still sections yet to be sold.. but seems like the lower bowl is almost entirely fully. great news for atmosphere. bad news if you were hoping not to be exposed. lol

still the standing room sections not open though...

oh? I thought they were gonna be on the other side. They never sold tickets for those sections, you'd think if it was GA then they'd sell it that way?

Well the fo made it a point to let the supporter groups bring drums and banners. Not sure how theyd be able to do all that in regular seating. But I guess it's possible. Guess we'll find out tomorrow

That makes a lot of sense! I was wondering about that. If what you say is true (about the seating; I know about the drums etc.) that actually makes me even more excited!

When we had to reserve seats for sths, there was a special unlock code for supporter groups. Perhaps that unlocked the standing sections. Not sure though. Maybe someone who is in the third rail on the forum can clarify or confirm?
