Not really relevant for this game but in case we advance
The baseball stadiums were never going to be approved by Concacaf. Sims saying Citi still has a chance is pure BS.

The bigger issue is really whether later rounds will even be played. Can see govt action playing a role in the next 5-10 days.

Yep. I don't think we fully comprehend just how big a deal this thing is. Italy is about 10 days ahead of us in terms of transmission, they now have 10,000 people infected. If it gets that bad here in the US, we are going to see large-scale disruption to our daily lives. Sports events will be the least of our concerns.

Especially in the metro area, since New Rochelle is, right now, might be the largest cluster of cases in the country.

I don't think the supporters section at RBA will be open to our supporters. Our supporters section will be behind the other goal in chairs and such. They'll just have to rest the drums on the chairs and try to maneuver that way. It'll be awkward, but at least they'll be close to the field and right behind SJ/ opposing goalie.

I don't think RB trusts our supporters to not cause chaos (re: destruction) within their brand new standing only section. I'm presuming that RB FO made it very clear our fans are probably going nowhere in or near the new RB Supporter sections.

honestly, I don’t blame RB if that’s the case - I figured their area was off limits per directive the last match.

they said that it would be opposite side. They did not open the redbull supporter section. was part of the deal.

Does the lower bowl hold 10k if the standing section isn't used? Seems we were allowed 10k max for this game. Just curious. I mean, if they don't want us in the standing section that's fine. Don't blame them..

yea, its right around 10K without those 4 sections or the two right behind the bench which i have not seen sold. 109-110.

We have 1 extra ticket if anyone is interested. Row 1 in section 126.

So the FO now sees RBA as a viable alternative and we're going to get eliminated at this round but hey, at least we get to play Tigres.

yes, this was the "fear" of some of the supporters. nothing stops them now from doing a "home" US open cup/ playoff/ MLS cup final. if a game gets postponed due to the virus, you damn well know its going to be made up at RBA.

No. They made it clear it is okay as an option, but only if none of the other venues work out. Does that mean they might get lax and start playing all sorts of games at the stadium? Maybe. But we can hope that they'll still try their darnedest to get any other venue.

Unfortunately, since we don't have our own stadium, we are at the mercy of Yankee/Mets scheduling. If they care about supporters at all, they'd try to play at YS/Citi first for playoffs/MLS, but otherwise it's RBA or CT. I'd personally prefer RBA since I wouldn't be able to go to CT. USOC would be at St Johns and no reason why it couldn't be since it's been there before.

true but MLS can just as easily say .....for TV or whatever. you guys played at RBA already for continental tournament, you can play there for playoffs or a cup final.

for early rounds sure, but i do think US Soccer wont want a semi or even a final in st johns for us open cup. i guess the trend may end up being like this: the deeper one goes to a tournament the its almost 100% RBA, if YS/Citi not available.

i'm ok with that. IF YS/Citi aren't available and that will be at the mercy of the Yankees/Mets schedule. Not much we can do about it, can we? What's the alternative? Let's say RBA is totally OUT. If St John's is not an option, what is the alternative? I don't think there is one if YS/Citi is not available.

The be-all-end-all of crappy options - Metlife...

that's no better than RBA imho. possibly worse.

EDIT:

Anybody think I'd be prohibited from bringing in my own small bottle of hand sanitizer? Was thinking I"d just shove an 8oz bottle in my jacket and have it handy. Not sure if RBA will be having extra dispenser stations around and even so, those concourses are gonna be madness given how tight they are. Don't really want to bring it along if they're gonna make me throw it out. that stuff is liquid gold these days!
