The season ends the way it began, with an away game against Orlando followed by a home game against the Revolution. Nothing to compete for in this game but pride though. Doesn't mean that we can't expect a good performance and have a little end-of-season cheer to go out on, though.

Match is on 25th October at 5pm local.
Broadcast is on YES.

Despite it all, I'm proud of the team. Still, we can only go upwards from this season.

I don't understand why this isn't the nationally televised game for the Eastern Conference. FS1 chose Columbus vs. DC. They both qualified for the playoffs and neither can win the supporter's shield or claim number one in the conference. However, the winner will get a first round bye.

If New England wins, they're in the playoffs. And we have Villa, Lampard, and Pirlo which means ratings.

Also, we're currently 17th in the supporter's shield race, so a win would mean we avoid relegation.

Boy I felt bad about this game because our success would be aiding in Orlando's possible success. It's not a rivalry but for this one season, I do want to spite them.

Thankfully, Orlando is pretty much eliminated already:

Orlando City's only hope to make the playoffs is to beat the Philadelphia Union by a large margin on #DecisionDay and hope New York City FC can do the same to the New England Revolution. The goal differential tiebreaker is not favorable to the Lions after Week 33: OCSC's is -9 compared to New England's -1.

At least we've improved during the season at home. 3-1-0 in our last four and 4-2-1 in our last seven.

If you split the home games into first 8 and last 8 we basically improved by turning 2 Draws into Wins.
First:
2-3-3
Second:
4-3-1
That's an improvement but not drastic. We need to cut the losses next year.

Looks like we're gonna have a helluva crowd Sunday. I just checked Ticketmaster and as of now they've opened up roughly 2/3 of the 300 section and about 8 out of the 21 or so sections are completely sold out.

This should be point #1 as to "Why NYCFC missed the playoffs this year." The losses to the Timbers and Montreal should be sub-bullets under point #1.

I just listed my two seats on TicketMaster for $25. Front row aisle in 213. The cheapest seats available for face are $30 in the 300's so hopefully they sell today! I've had them listed for $29 for a while but no sell yet. It could be because the guy with the two seats next to me has had his at $99 and maybe people hover over his seats and assume mine are priced the same.
