Introduce Yourself

Good morning everyone. I'm a 32 y/o dad and husband from NY. Hudson Valley to Strong Island. I grew up an SL Benfica die hard and am a paying supporter since 2004. Never got into those Harrison Red Bulls and I was so happy that NYCFC was able to fill my void in American association football. I'm a new season ticket holder and ready to chant my butt off for those boys. Força Benfica and NYCFC!
Welcome to the forums. My dad is from Angola but my Portuguese is as good as the Chicago Fire's record.

Hello, I am Max from The Netherlands, as you can see I support NYCFC and Ajax, my first team is Ajax because I grew up with it. Now because there was this new team in NY ( not the fake red bulls ) I wanted to support them because NY is like Amsterdam, my favourite city. Also we have the orange in the NYCFC logo so that is very cool. I hope that was enough about me.

PS : Im an Man Utd supporter aswell, and I hate man city, is it okay to be a NYCFC supporter then?

It's totally okay, we have a lot of fans who support Man Utd. Welcome!

As long as you can support NYCFC alongside those of us who happen to be City fans then it's no problem at all. Welcome aboard.

Well I can, but I would hate it if this club becomes a toy of Man City though.

I agree with you completely. I don't think that will happen though. For one it's not Man City that owns us but rather CFG. I would think they want both clubs to succeed, and using us as a testing ground won't be a good thing. If NYCFC (and MLS) grows and prospers that can only help CFG. If they do things to hurt the club in favor of Man City then it's not going to work.

I'm being cautiously optimistic, and I hope that turns out to be the way things go (although there's a number of people here who don't like CFG). We'll see, I guess. It's only been one season so far, just the beginning.

Yup, well lets see. Since it is like the first time I am actually following an American team, at what time do the matches often play? And can I watch them in my country?

Hi, i'm Clemb. I'm french but i live in London. I'm a PSG, Arsenal and NYCFC fan. I grew up in New Jersey and i have never liked the Red Bulls despite Henry being my favorite player so i decided to support NYCFC the day one. The french league becoming quite boring (i'm not really a fan of Qatar takeover ...), I started to follow MLS which is way more exciting (offensive football, complex rules, playoffs, etc).

I try to catch some games when I can but it is quite difficult because MLS coverage is weak in the UK and it's really late here if I want to stream a match.

I've never been to a game, I'm going to NYC the first week of March but i'm afraid that the season will not have started yet.

Welcome - I live just outside of London myself. I would agree that the games aren't the easiest to catch here, although most of the time it's workable if you are willing to accept going to bed late.

I hope you enjoy your trip to NYC - I went over for the first home game last season and had a great time. If you're going in the very first week of March, you might just be able to catch the first game, but it depends on when we're at home and when we're away. The fixture list comes out next month, so unfortunately until January all we can do is speculate.

I find it utterly incomprehensible that you said that and yet did not go ahead and speculate. It's what we *do* here!

Hello all!

I moved to New York early last year and snuck in on season tickets towards the end of the season. Next season will be my first full season and I'm very excited (especially since I moved my seat away from that damned foul pole). I live within walking distance of Yankee Stadium and love MLS (while also hating the Red Bulls) -- so I really had no excuses not to get season tickets. I coach youth soccer next to Yankee stadium, am a graduate student at NYU, and just have the one season ticket so I'm always up for a pint and some soccer chitchat. Looking forward to next season. Cheers.

Haha, very true, but somehow speculating on whether our first game of the season will be home or away seems a little small fry.

If you really want speculation, though, I'm wondering whether there's any truth to that rumour from a few weeks back that MLS told Disney City that they could pick which game to begin their campaign with and they demanded another home game against us...

They only get one home game against us next year. Be interesting if they choose to burn it 1st week.

Hi all I'm from Indonesia. I'm 15 y/o, I'm supporters of MCFC and NYCFC. Well I support Italy for international game because my country didn't exist at football. I think I'm the first Indonesian supporter lol. Is it true?
I have been support NYCFC when they just made, but I just know this forum from twitter.
Hard to support this team, why?
because this team are from USA well I'm at Indonesia. As Asian I need to stay awake at midnight to see this team play.
Then talking about shirt, I can't found NYCFC shirt at any sport shop at my hometown.
So that's a little introduce about me. Special thanks to you all!
