Stoke City Twitterati reporting its official. He's flying there "now"

Someone will have to explain to me the implications of the deal potentially rising to $6 Million

My reaction, but if that’s what he wants, then have to let him go. Hope he enjoys sitting on the bench and better pray Stoke stays up.

I have always believed that Jack is (no more than) a solid talent, and a good fit to be a reasonable producer in a league like MLS. He probably has the talent to be a contributor for a second tier team in Europe, although it will be much tougher sledding and he is going to get hammered in a more rugged environment. With that said, you are worth what someone is willing to pay you, so he can’t pass up an opportunity to get paid. With the way I gauge his talent, it may be the best one.

On our side, he does leave a production deficit I hope that we will continue to address. Looks like we have already some of the pieces, and also have some young talent thus far rotting on the bench. Let’s hope that our scouts have and will hit on some more Rings and PV let’s our most promising assets show their stuff.

Good for Jack. Effect on us TBD.

How is Miazga as an American defender worth more than Harrison as an English forward in terms of Premier League transfer value? The base should be $7-8M will incentives up to $8-9M and a sell on clause.

Chelsea can spend whatever they want. Stoke can't.

It's not that Miazga was worth more it's just that Chelsea could pay more.

That's not true. Matt has all of the physical attributes and was an MLS Best 11 defender. They definitely aren't worth the same.

Because of that, Chelsea was in for him but not for the likes of Jack. If Jack were a commensurate talent at attacker, he would have bigger clubs in for him and thus a higher price. Instead, he has stoke.

Eta: and let's be clear - he's not going to look good there. No way. No one does. Shaqiri and Arnautovic appear middling in that environment. Jack is a fraction of the talent those two have.

Wasn't Jack part of that Etihad video project they were working on a week or two ago? What are they gonna do, cut out all the clips with him in them? Bad timing I guess.

See above. MLS best 11 at 20. Crushed it at the u20 world cup. Monster physical presence, still raw enough to improve.
