James Sands [Midfielder] [HG]

Sands is in Germany training with Dusseldorf

This is great. Could get quite a massive transfer fee for him. And I have doubts he'll move now, or in the summer, but perhaps after our next season, Dusseldorf will have already seen him up close and personal and may be looking to buy.

And at the very least, he's getting some nice training in the offseason.

1 day later...

Sands out for season with injury sustained at Fortuna Dusseldorf in shock collision with visiting friend Brad Stuver

Wasn't he on the nations league preliminary roster too? and then was snubbed? I hope he doesn't get snubbed here.
There has been a lot of chatter about James being the correct backup for Tyler Adams instead of Jackson Yuell given Berhalter's systems.

I think that was the U23 Olympic Qualifying roster. He definitely should have been on that team.

There are 60 players on the provisional roster. Only 23 make the Gold Cup. James deserves a call up, but there is good competition. Matt Doyle had him on the team. The guys at the Athletic didn't even have him in consideration.

Really well written article. Good luck to you James!! We're all rooting for you to do well!

Surreal to see our boy James in the subs of a real USMNT game. Hope we get a bunch of goals in the first half so he can make his debut in the second half!!!

A tight 1-0 game as it stands now would be more likely for Sands to come on as a sub.
