Kreis Officially Out At NYCFC

I think I've just had a stroke reading that.
Oh, I wasn't commenting on you guys little tiff. I was just generally stating that I think Kreis had to go. I lost confidence in him permanently when he literally threw away a chance at a great win for us supporters in the US Open cup by bringing in Wingert on his birthday.

His refusal to accommodate his best talent and his dourness and general shit demeanor all contributed. He lost the team around the time Pirlo signed, but he wasn't winning us many games with his decisions before then, either.

Finding out he was trying to move Poku didn't help. He had freedom to sign players, and he got us fuck all capable of contributing.

He was done here. I think he wanted to be, and I'm damn glad CFG accommodated him. I think the Lampard shit hamstrung him, but damn. Averaging less than a point a game with what we had is on him, his coaching and his signings, and more than anything else, his man management and attitude.

Wrong fit. We go again next year. Except for these pussies who give a fuck about a journo criticizing us.

I am consistent. I want what's best for my club. I think this is the best decision that could be made right now. I'm just hoping that Claudio's meeting isn't until tomorrow.

Why would he try to get fired? Serious question. That's a pretty serious accusation.

Did you see how seriously pitiful his team sheets were? Unless there were injuries, internal suspensions or whatever that we still haven't heard about, not a few, not some, but MOST of his personnel and tactical decisions were inexplicable.

So either he is a complete moron, or he ran out of fucks to give.

The only one who has the capacity to make crazier lineup selections than Kreis is Capello, so let's hope that's not the direction!

A lot of talk about how Kreis was a moron with his tactics.

I may be in the minority here, but if I had to guess who has a better feel for the team -- the coach, who is working with the team daily and analyzing game footage -- or the monday morning quarterback fans who frequently draw on revisionist history to prove their tactical prowess -- I'm going with the coach nine times out of ten.

Love the idea that they review after each season, including an inaugural one, and are willing to make such a polarizing move to put a quality product on the pitch. That can only bode well for our future. I highly doubt that this was a decision made in haste. CFG wants this team to compete and win... right now. That's great ambition and that will take some ballsy decision making. Kreis clearly didn't really fit with that approach. I really wanted him to be successful here but something was way out of sync. Good call to cut the cord.

This all the begs the question: What could our roster have looked like if Kreis wasn't at the helm and importing RSL. No Wingert, no Ned, no Lord Kwame.
It's not like many of the other guys chosen at the expansion draft did great either during the season.

Sal Zizzo is a backup RB who only got minutes with the Red Bulls after Chris Duvall, the starter, picked up a serious long-term injury. Tommy McNamara may be the only other halfway decent player on that list.

Mullins, Tony Taylor (barring injury) and George John (still a gamble) are good players.

Having sat in on the pre-match chalk talks (proud Cityzen that I am), there was logic behind the team selections. It wasn't logic I agreed with, but it was there. There's a difference between bad decisions and inexplicable ones, even the really, really bad ones.

Deliberately sucking to get out of a job you don't like makes sense if you're a Subway sandwich artist. I'm not sure it makes sense if you're making seven figures in the highest profile, most prestigious, most scrutinized job of your professional career.

And you'd have won one in three games.

Where should I send your ribbon?

Would you also go with the coach who shit on Poku and Mix to play Grabavoy? If so, then you didn't watch much of us.
