Kwadwo Poku [Midfielder]

Poku is now 7 games into his NASL career. He has started all 7 games and has 3 goals with 1 assist.

Best of luck to him. Wish we had a place for him/knew how to use him correctly & had money to pay him what he's worth.

That's awesome. I tried streaming his first two games down there, but the feed was making my eyes bleed. Any idea what position they are playing him in? And what kind of lineup they use?

Haven't looked into it too much, but I am sure you can tinker around at the Miami FC website. Last I saw he was a forward in a 4-4-2 diamond, but I don't know if that's been the case all along.

He was a guest panelist on the Locker Room on BeIn Sport last week. Interesting

:D

Forever in our hearts.

I think he was the first player to ever leave who we didn't ask the door not to hit on the way out.
While I get what you are saying, I held no animosity or bitterness for AJ, Wingert, Grabavoy, etc. I wish our coach hadn't played them as often as he did. But I didn't want the door smacking their asses on the way out either.

Totally agree he will remain in our hearts. There is something specially endearing about him. Lucky Miami.

Because his transfer fee out of MLS was greater than 500K, Poku is now on the MLS Allocation List. So a team has to be number 1 in that list to go after Poku.

I think this blacklists him from returning to MLS for some time. He's a good player, but is his good enough for teams to trade GAM/TAM/International Roster Spots/Etc for the first right to transfer for Poku?

Depending on how MLS sets the rules for roster building for the 2017 clubs, I could see Poku heading to Atlanta United FC. The only problem is that Miami would want more than what they spent for him $750K. Could you see AUFC spending $1M on a transfer for his guy. Is Poku really a DP player?

Unfortunately Poku is another position player held back by our DP's. I really can't take us as serious contenders until we chase talent not names.
I don't think we could have done much better with our DPs (excluding the Lampgate). Yes, all three are big names (which was important as a new team), but all three have been top MLS talent as well.

I agree in the history of MLS DPs all 3 of ours when on the field have performed better and played harder than a large majority of their big name predecessors. You could make a strong argument that from an effort level, games played and impact standpoint Villa has been one of the best DPs ever.
