Mikkel "Mix" Diskerud [Midfielder]

Holy crap, JK now throwing our best midfielder under the bus. The sign of a coach with no clue, when he starts blaming. How about you start by looking in the mirror? Grabavoy playing every minute of every game?
Seriously. I try to give these guys the benefit of the doubt on the interpersonal stuff since we don't really know the players, what goes on in the changing room, etc, but how can this possibly be helpful? Particularly when he already called him out on Sunday night. Bizarre.

Here's the full article I pulled the quotes from if you're interested.

Ugh. This is why I don't like Twitter "journalism." Out of context that quote sounds really harsh, but in context of someone asking Kreis about why he subbed Mix off, they seem fine. Especially since he says the good stuff about Mix first in the actual article and Mix is quoted as saying he understands and is looking to do better.

To me the relevant stats for the RB are touches:

back 6 in a 442:
Williams:67
Hernandez:53
Wingert:62
Allen:58
Jacobson:81
Grabavoy:65

Front four:
Diskerud:36
Alvarez:53
Villa:31
Shelton:29

To me that says the back six couldn't get it to the front 4, with the exception of Alvarez, which, out of this group, if I was playing defense that would make me happy. Is it Diskerud's, Villa's and shelton's fault if HALF of the touches by the back 6 do not end up getting to the attack?

As comparison, Klestjan and Sam had the 2nd and 3rd most touches on the team.

Kreis blaming Diskerud, while tacitly applauding Grabavoy by playing him non-stop, is maddening.

mix is playing out of position every one sees this. But since our defense/ and DM arent great he alwasy has to drop back and far to have positive impact in terms of offense.

Agreed, this is why I think we need to use our 3rd DP slot on a DM. It would allow Mix to get the ball in more forward positions where he can be more effective for us.

Mix <3

Hope he comes back and keeps up this form. Kreis needs to play him in a more attacking role.
