I'm kinda surprised that tickets made it through to the general public.

Are we doing a marketplace for this season? I have 2 sweet first row 226 tickets that I can't use because junior has a game in freaking Albany. Not looking for a profit, but not sure if we're still doing this.

I am coming with 3 kids - so 4 people altogether. We will all have to test as I will be only 8 days after my 2nd shot.

I naively assumed that getting a rapid test would be a minor issue. I went to book a time at my local pharmacy, and they want $100/each. And, since none of us have been exposed or are symptomatic, insurance won't cover.

In the end, the good Dr. Mrs. Gator is going to swab us and take the samples into her office to process, but word to the board here that getting those tests might add up.

Yeah, I'm getting a rapid test for $25 before the match. Attending games during COVID is a luxury to some.

I can't even find a single place near me to get a rapid test. I guess I'm stuck getting a PCR test and hoping they turn results around in time.
I've been working from home, am very low risk, have no known exposures/risks, and will be 13 days after my 2nd dose (vs. 14 day requirement).

This match will be very sparsely attended.

The rapid test thing is turning into a racket. My wife's office got a bunch when they were first available. There was a fancy machine to put it into, etc.

After a couple of times, she looked at it more closely and realized you didn't need the machine or anything. It was basically like a home pregnancy test. Put some snot on it and wait to see if the plus symbol materializes.

$100 my ass.

Yeah, I'm not going to this one, and not really sure about the rest, at least for now. The choice is roll it all over to next year, or be made to buy extra seats in the pods that I won't use if I go by myself. Feels like the whole thing was just tossed up in the air and nobody's sure what's going on yet (not anyone's fault, really). In a way the worst case scenario for planning purposes is if they're able to somehow manage to have things be back to normal for half the season, which leaves season ticket holders with only half the season rolled over. I guess it'd be back to monthly payments in that case.

Lots of options, all for $30:

I had my test done for a Knicks game at a CVS in the Bronx -- $30 and 30 minutes and it was a lower nose swab, not the brain swab.

The good Mrs. Dr. Gator has informed me that the raw materials for a rapid test are actually pretty expensive - maybe $50/test. So, $100 is not crazy.

I've been checking through some on line Yankees sites to see what to expect in stadium. Link to a good Reddit thread is below.

Summary
  • Experience getting in was mixed. Some people got caught in a 20 minute line; others were shorter.
  • Most concession stands are not open - one guy said maybe 25%.
  • More stands open downstairs than upstairs.
  • No cash at concessions - credit card only.
  • Can only eat/drink in your seats.
  • They have Chicken Buckets! Repeat: They have Chicken Buckets!
  • Beer only sold in cans - no draft!
  • The unsold seats are tied off with zip ties.
  • Most bars/restaurants nearby (Billy's, Stan's, etc.) are open with outdoor seating; they may not be allowing an open bar area.

Attending a game in one of the states that takes this serious sounds miserable right now.

Attended a game in North Carolina a month ago. Social distance required. No tests. Cash accepted. Wear a mask unless at your seat. Outside. All good.

I will miss this game and any RedBulls arena game. Curious when they open up the stadium and relax the rules. I’m not surprised there’s seats available. Between the COVID testing requirements and the crap product, who wants to go?
