Reminder that we would have hosted Portland had we made it to the final even with our late season collapse.

And Portland will travel well to Atlanta. Should be a really fun environment.

I wonder how they will allocate seats. I remember with our season tickets we learned that they give most of the best seats to MLS and STH's are left with the upper decks. Should be interesting because the venue is so large. And how many seats do the give to Timbers fans?

Timbers get 1,300 seats. And there has been a signed protest letter from the supporter groups of all four teams that made it to the Conference Finals that Atlanta (and MLS) isn't allocating enough tickets to visiting supporters. They are arguing that the FIFA "regulation" is 5% of stadium capacity, which would be about 2,000 more tickets.

Article about how Savarese's tactics changed over the course of the season. Offers an interesting contrast to our own tactical trajectory in the approach to the playoffs:

Summary: Portland was a sit back and counter team during the 15-game win streak. Savarese tinkered because he wanted more possession and attack, but that's when they floundered. He also played with a lot of formations.
At the end of the season, and playoffs, he stopped fooling around and just went with the counterpunch style and settled on the team's most comfortable formation.

Does it mention anywhere his main weakness? (Not knowing the away goals rule)

Martinez flops and Kelly having nothing of it. An actual good MLS ref.

Sucks MLS is losing Tata after this game. We need more coaches of his caliber with a name

Good, it's all shaping up for ATL to choke the lead in the second half ;)
