So... How did week 1 turn out?
I finished in the middle of the pack. Ranked 90 something and my point scored was the average scored for the week.
Already made my two transfers.. Not a good start lol

I think I have my 2 transfers picked out, but am going to wait until later in the week to make them. I apparently paid 0 attention to injury news and didn't realize Fatai Alashe is missing the beginning part of the season, had him starting...lol

I'll figure this thing out.

I ended up with 86 points this week. My one and only "wah moment" was when Feilhaber was injured and I was undecided to transfer him out for Mix or McCarty. Of course I went with McCarty.

Other than transferring Mix into the team this week I'm probably going to stick with my original lineup. I'm going to keep an eye on Loyd (FC Dallas) to see why he didn't play yesterday and I just might take the C from Villa and give it to Giovinco.

After week one I am in dead last place with a surprisingly low points total of 67. I can't see myself climbing out of this whole anytime soon. It's gonna be a long fantasy season.

I posted this in the wrong/now closed fantasy thread:
I ended up with only 57, oof. I didn't expect to be at the top, but thought I'd at least be middle of the pack with my roster. Think it's a combination of trying MLS version of fantasy for the first time (still learning how best to accumulate mid-field points/bonuses) and some players not getting the minutes I expected (e.g. Kekuta Manneh only getting 30 min, despite pre-season headlines like "Manneh aims to lead scoring charts for Whitecaps")

Starting Agudelo and Dos Santos killed me from finishing in the top 10% but middle of the pack aint bad. I took Plata and Coelho this week in transfers.

Started Van Damme, Kah, and Hollingshead all who didn't start. And Kennedy went out with an injury early on. Not a good start.

Here comes a toughy, do I make Gio the captain against our defense? Or do I make Larin the captain against the Fires defense? Last week Kaka was my captain and loss so many points.:(

I got badly roughed up by starting Feilhaber and Kaka and having the rest of my midfield lay an egg. Oh, and having Dan Kennedy play 20 minutes in goal for LA didn't help.

Not sure who I will be trading, but I probably have more than 2 changes that need to be made.

I normally advise people to avoid making 3 or more transfers and taking the 4pt hit per extra move in any given week. Usually your ability to predict that the player you get will outperform the player you dealt by more than 4 points is not that good. But if you have multiple players who it turns out are hurt or don't play for any reason, it could be worth taking the hit this week to get things sorted. The alternative is making it right 2 trades at a time, but new issues keep coming up and it might feel that you never get caught up.

Waiting on some desperately needed transfers until later in the week...which means I'm bound to remember five minutes after the deadline Friday.

Like someone pointed out earlier, these early injury reports are everyone on the injury report last week, plus anyone who left the game injured. No real clarity until later in the week.

With Kennedy being out, I used one of my transfers to pick up Rowe and then used my second to upgrade Nagbe to Higuain, with Columbus having Philly and Chicago the next 2 weeks.

Are you trying to win by captaining Giovinco against our defense while I try to win by captaining Villa against Toronto's defense?

Just sayin'

I remembered to make my transfers! Had to cut bait on Drogba to give myself some flexibility to start fixing my midfield.

Still probably screwed up the lineup, which seems to be a running theme this year.

Yup. Let the fun and games begin!

Just surfing FB and I come across an article that said Castillo is now hopeful he can play against Houston this weekend.

I guess the only thing I should really be surprised about is this article didn't come out tomorrow 20 minutes after I transferred him off my team.

Just realized the 2 finalists for save of the week were against my players' shots.

I went with Kamara against Philly at home. The Union are shaping up to be terrible this year.

Can I gripe in here? The pricing system does not encourage speculating on sleepers to increase team value. I had tony taylor (on my bench of course, since i suck) valued at 5.5, who scores a goal and gets 6 points. why doesn;t he increase in value? why is the value cap .2 million per week? If i pick up some guy at 4 million, who turns into messi overnight, why does the rest of the league get to buy him at 4.2 the next week?

The value changes should be much more dramatic and based on changes in situation. Poku wins starting spot? value should increase to a starters level to reward the guys who had him before.
