MLS Fantasy Week 2

Can I gripe in here? The pricing system does not encourage speculating on sleepers to increase team value. I had tony taylor (on my bench of course, since i suck) valued at 5.5, who scores a goal and gets 6 points. why doesn;t he increase in value? why is the value cap .2 million per week? If i pick up some guy at 4 million, who turns into messi overnight, why does the rest of the league get to buy him at 4.2 the next week?

The value changes should be much more dramatic and based on changes in situation. Poku wins starting spot? value should increase to a starters level to reward the guys who had him before.
Yeah, I saw that the max increase/decrease per game is +/- 0.2. So if you have a player that has 2 games in one week, they could potentially move +0.4 or -0.4.

It's tough setting up your team this early in the season since there's no pattern to speak of to base your decisions.

I transferred Castillo out, because there's just too many questions concerning his health. There are a ton of good midfielders to bring in and I really had a tough time deciding. I ended up going with Higuain. My apologies, because I can't recall who gave the tip, but the fact his next 2 games are against Philly and Chicago was a deciding factor.

I also dumped McCarty and brought in Mix.

How many points usually end up winning the league at the end of the year?
I think the scoring revision this year makes that irrelevant. Last year I averaged 65 points per round, which was not elite but closer to top than middle I'm pretty sure And that included some double game weeks where I was able to pile on. The average in week 1 this year was 61 points. I think scoring will be higher, because they added ways for players to gain points but I don't think they took any other limiting steps or added ways to lose points.

After Week 1: #7 Forums, #10 American Outlaws, #27 NYCFC, #722 Overall

Made a midfielder and forward transfer. Debating on who to captain...

EDIT: I thought I made Larin my captain, fuck. Now I have some real thinking to do and the person I captain better step up and outperform Larin.

Goddamnit, saw my points were much lower than expected given that I had both Accam and Larin and . . I somehow screwed up and left Accam on the bench.

So Cole sits out with tightness. Now I'm rooting for a Colorado clean sheet since I have sjorberg on my bench.

I have 3 FC Dallas players in my starting lineup. Once again Loyd never got off the bench and Hedges conceded an own goal. oy.

To tell the truth, I don't have the heart to even go to the web site and check my scores. When I checked yesterday I was down 55-5 to one of my H2H opponents, but obviously that was due to his lineup having a lot of starters already playing and mine didn't.

I have 6 players going today, so here's hoping SJ has another clean sheet week and Mix and Villa go crazy. I won't count Gio, because I'll assume my opponents have him too (doesn't everybody?).

Whelp... After every one of my players except for Giovinco has played in sitting on a whopping 20 points. This is just great....

Villa pulled through with a brace and scored 30 points as captain. #1 in the Forums, #2 in r/MLS & American Outlaws & NYCFC, #47 Overall.

Still will tinker with my lineup and use both transfer next week. I'd like to replace Larin as I don't think he'll do well against NYCFC on Friday, but I have to think about defenders and my goalkeeper.

Villa saved my week, most annoying this has been feilhaber who ive had the first 2 weeks hoping that he played as he was listed as questionable week 1, finally decided to get rid but now just waiting for him to be back week 3 and score loads of points

I'm regretting passing over Villa for Kamara. Now he's just out of reach unless I did some other swaps. I added Oduro and Piatti to my roster for week 2 though, which worked out well. Rebounded reasonably well from week 1 failure

Weird week for me.

I won both matches in my H2H leagues.

On the flip side, since I ended up with only 71 points, I dropped in the standings in one league and kept my 2nd place position in the other. Also ended up dropping in the NYCFC Forums league, the New York City FC league and Round 1/Overall.

I did much better this week, but I think a lot of that was the monster game that Villa had and I captained him as well.

I already used my 2 transfers for this week as I have 0 patience. Got rid of Nocerino and added Mix as he's been playing very well and I'm expecting more of the same from him going forward. I then swapped out Jordan Morris and added Max Urruti. After this round, Dallas has 2 games in one round, so want to try and take advantage of that, and it looked like Jordan Morris picked up a concussion on Saturday.
