I mean, in order for the player to play I'm pretty sure they'll need a Canadian visa / work permit, since the team is still Canadian. I could be wrong, though, but that's what makes sense to me...
To complicate things even more, the players are not team employees since they actually sign with the league.

Not sure how that affects required visas

That's why I think maybe Toronto is dealing with US visas right now. Their players are employees of a US entity with their principal workplace in Orlando for the next few months at least and during that time they won't set foot in Canada. But I certainly don't know. And American teams have managed to bring in international signings in 2-3 weeks, while other players have taken several weeks like ours have. The data points are all over the place. We might just be unlucky in our first 2 attempts. Regardless of blame, it's just annoying to see someone signed more than 2 weeks after Andrade get into a game before Andrade arrives in country. Didn't Ronnie say last week he probably would arrive this week?

He did. Press conference is today, so I'm sure we'll have a better answer early afternoon. Or I suppose the answer could still be we don't know when he's coming.

This could potentially become a tough match. Yes, they should be a little tired coming from a mid-week game, but they could also be a bit sharper because of it.

if we play a 3 back system, it's going to be a jozy vs sands battle. that should be interesting to watch. Solteldo seems like he could potentially be a dangerous player but our biggest break is there's still no pozuelo. that guy seems to really love playing against us and he tends to turn it up a notch.

word is kemar lawrence will also be in the starting xi, so tinny is going to have to up his game a bit. sadly, we can't rely too much on gudi to make up any lack of attack we have on the right...

The midweek game likely does help Solteldo and Altidore at the least.

why do I have the funny feeling that Solteldo is going to have his “breakout welcome to MLS” game and Jozy will flop for another penalty. We all end up shaking our heads again.

It's not his first game like Pozuelo had. That Seb foul on Jozy for the penalty is still certainly questionable.

Jozy goaded Seb to get that foul. I remember it like it was yesterday... Jozy pulling on Sebs jersey, Seb returning the love and Jozy making a big show... I also remember Jozy in MLS is back going on on Chanot like a NFL linebacker and being a prima donna ...pardon my French but-
fuck that guy.

Toronto has more of the NYCFC villains now than Red Bull does...

Jozy Altidore (Kick out to Callens in Toronto, 2018)
Kemar Lawrence (Boxing Match with Tinnerholm while on Red Bulls)
Dom Dywer (Just an ass)

Looks like we may not be live on YES anymore. Nets just scheduled their game for 1pm on Saturday. So looks like YES is putting our game on at 4pm. Presumably this will live on the YES app, and tape delay on YES.

Anyone who went to the first game know about the bar situation around Yankee Stadium? Heard others say there’s only generic beers available inside and would like a pregame area if possible.

Bumped. It starts already.

Tough situation. NBA waited until 48 hrs before to release start times. Had they revealed start times earlier, I bet NYCFC could have shifted to 4pm so they could be live on YES. But can't really do that with less than 48 hrs notice. Just a crappy situation all the way around.

Possible we will see Gray starting at RB tomorrow. The injury bug is hitting us hard all of a sudden..

Morales and Moralez are both still out/questionable due to same injuries. Not good considered they were supposed to be minor to begin with.

Tinnerholm is questionable with a hammy injury, which are a pain in the ass to heal and stay healed.

Gideon questionable as usual.

Heber and Thiago out of course.
