New York City FC vs. Columbus Crew
Saturday, May 22 7:30 PM ET
Red Bull Arena
YES

EDIT: They're no longer Columbus Crew SC. They're Columbus SC.

EDIT 2: Now they're Columbus Crew.

Tickets go on sale to City Members starting tomorrow morning (May 11). RBA will not require a negative COVID test or fully vaccinated status. Temperature checks will be taken on site before entry. No bags allowed.

So did the third rail keep their spine and decide to boycott these games?

One other thing about RBA. Why not have the game in the afternoon? Personally, I’d feel better since the travel time is a whole hour longer. That’s two hours more total than my Yankee Stadium commute and if I’m bringing kids the night trip home can feel like even more of a slog. Feeling like the whole RBA thing could have been handled better.

TV I'm sure

Let's hope he is right. Missing our 3 best field players and both starting center backs while hosting the defending league champions at our not-really-at-home arena is not a cause for optimism.

Another game of two goalkeepers on the bench

Injury front:
  • Ronny mentioned that Maxi will be available for the game on Saturday (didn't say start or off the bench).
  • He mentioned he expects Callens to be available for Saturday.
  • He's hoping that everybody will be available (in response to a general question about the other guys injured, Anton, Maxime, and Alfredo). I'm sure these guys are at varying levels of "readiness" for Saturday.

while i think it would be great to have a "full strength" squad vs CLB, if these guys aren't truly 100% i hope they don't play and risk injuring themselves more with the congested part of the schedule coming up soon. this is a great time to get those rotating guys in there with some minutes so they aren't coming on the field cold turkey when we need them later in the season.

Agree mostly regarding Maxi and Tinnerholm. We have depth at the other spots to not have as large of a quality drop-off in case they were to suffer a longer-term injury.

according to this week's injury report: https://www.nycfc.com/post/2021/05/21/injury-report-team-news-columbus-clash

there is no mention of Talles waiting for his P1 Visa? Is this just a mistake by the digital team (totally expected) or did he receive his visa already and is now just doing MLS quarantine like Thiago?

Maxi, Morales, Tinner - still questionable despite supposedly suffering "minor" injuries. Guess they weren't so minor. but better to be safe with some key players.

Also questionable: callens and chanot. yikes. going to be a debut start for Vuk? Let's hope Gray gets a start as well.

everything is confusing. They originally said he cant join roster till he gets his p1 visa. but then on the tweets coming out yesterday alluded that he can join as soon as he clears the MLS protocol timeframe and that may be over next week.
