MLS Playoff Race - 2019

I wanted to see who we're better off paying against with our bye vs their short rest. (Sims said at award ceremony we're probably playing on the 23rd)

I couldn't find the stats anywhere about league records on short rest. So I just focused on the 3 teams we could be playing. I ignored USOC & Canadian matches because those are rotated squads (except for Toronto after the 2nd leg of championship). I also broke the 3-4 days rest into away/home games, since the team will be playing away vs us. And differentiated if they played 3 or more short rest games in a row, since the team really tires out at that point (except for NJ!!). Here's what I came up with:

DCU
away 2-0-1
home 0-1-3
3 straight 0-3-0
Total 2-4-4

NJRB
away 2-2-1
home 0-1-1
3 straight 3-3-1
Total 5-6-3

TOR
away 0-2-1
home 3-0-0
3 straight 1-2-2
4 straight 0-0-1
5 straight 0-1-0
Total 4-5-4

Toronto had a stretch early in the year where they played 5 straight matches on short rest, hence the extra columns. Looks like they are also the most vulnerable away on short rest of the 3 teams. Based on these results, I'd say we should root for Toronto to come out of the 4/5 seed and play us in the 2nd round.

DCU, who most of us say we prefer, is 2-0-1 away from home on short rest. I wonder if this is because they just pack it in and defended in those games, which is actually where they are more successful.

what a shame if SJ loses their coach. i think he enjoyed being at SJ but the refs and maybe language barrier, really make it difficult for him to turn down a good offer from a club in Liga MX.

So SJ could lose their manager right before the playoffs. I understand giving your manager a buyout clause, but can’t you word it that it has to happen AFTER the post-season?!

meh, Sutcliffe is really hit or miss ( i think its been more misses). i dont doubt that it will happen but i dont think it will happen this quick, almeyda may ask to let him finish the year, which realistically may not be more than the first round.

You can now buy add on tickets for the conference semi finals game at city field Only it gives you the option now but not for Yankee stadium

Where can one do this? I have not gotten any email and I don't see any such option when I log into my account manager.
Yeah, its really odd. I was able to find this, but this whole thing is just messed up.
  • When I go to MyAccountManager and click on My Events, it is saying that I have no upcoming events. But I paid the amount for playoff tickets for the EC semi-finals and finals.
  • In MyAccountManager, I can click on Member Options -> Member Add-Ons, and it gives me options to add tickets for both the EC semi-finals and finals at BOTH locations separately, see screen shot below
    • It does note that I have unique access to this event due to my account - I understand you have an account, but maybe since you opted out this isn't showing up for you? I don't know.
  • I clicked on the Citi Field item and it pulls up the seating chart and asks what section I want. I am looking to add one more SS ticket, so the seats don't have to be next to each other. The only problem is, I have no idea what section I'm in at Citi Field and I can't look at my ticket since my account isn't showing me as having an upcoming event to attend.
    • Now, usually, at Yankee Stadium, you can easily move between SS sections, so that's normally not a big deal. But I don't know what security at Citi Field will be like, so don't want to take any unnecessary chances there.

Thanks. I just didn't try Member Options, thinking it would be under Buy Tickets, or Events. I have the access also, though when I finally got Flash to work (really Ticketmaster?) I was shown a seating map of Yankee Stadium under the Citi Field option, so /shrug.
