Th

ats unnecessarily big. Its massive. I doubt the soccer demo there is THAT big

Well they will have 30,000 season ticket holders in 2017 so more than the lower bowl capacity in the picture above. And they plan to open the entire stadium for the first 2 matches plus all the Orlando City games.

And those renderings are with the upper decks covered by the curtains. It's going to be a beautiful arena.

Anyone know if they are going with turf or grass?
It will be GreenFields MX turf:

Testing according to exacting FIFA protocols has confirmed that the GreenFields® MX 3-STAR Turf System also closely mimics the shock absorption and energy restitution characteristics of natural grass soccer specific stadium surfaces. Stadiums throughout The Netherlands have converted to GreenFields® MX systems including ADO Den Haag, Sparta, Dordrecht, PEC Zwolle, Volendam, RJC, Heracles and many others.

As long as it doesn't use the cancer-causing reconstituted tire-pellets....

Didn't make the trip but lived there for a few years and went to a bunch of games. I'm neutral on the stadium, it's a fine place to watch a match but nothing about the stadium really jumps out at you. RBA is way nicer.

Pros:
1. Good view from any seat
2. Feels small even with a listed capacity of 30k
3. Some decent food options
4. Lively well organized supporters section, with Capos and a stand for them to lead from
5. Fun tail gating scene in the parking lot before games because most people have to drive to get there.
6. I always found the fans to be friendly even to away supporters the tail gating before the game is one big party.
7. Secondary market tickets are super cheap you can get amazing seats for $5-$10 on game day.

Cons:
1. The non supporters section seats are often only half full and the fans are not very lively
2. Nothing about the stadium stands out
3. On one end of the field they have a bunch of new Toyotas on elevated pedestals with spot lights on them makes it feel a bit like you are at a car dealership and just seems trashy
4. It never seems to get super loud partly because one end is some what open and partly because it's usually half empty.
5. Section 8 is more obsessed with the tetris chant than the TR is with hey baby.

It's a functional soccer specific stadium so who am I to judge until we get ours. That being said when we finally get our SSS if looks anything like Toyota park most people will be super disappointed.
Was at the game and can agree completely with everything stated though I feel I have to mention that the seats are so close to the pitch it's amazing.

That Toyota Park awning that doubles as a concert stage over one of the goals looks so out of place, I couldn't help but keep looking at it during the game.

It's also such a pain in the ass to get to.

No public transit access besides bus makes huge difference, especially for us New Yorkers.

Portland and Salt Lake stadiums are so much easier to get to and RSL play in the suburbs too.

Yep. Looks like they got some needed government approval as well. This looks like a go.

Hope they get the fan support. I have my doubts.

Win and fans will come.

Its how it goes in Miami.

But they have big Hispanic population and usually they are pretty in to soccer. But they are mostly Cubans so not sure if they are like other Hispanic group.

A marquee signing like Ronaldo or Messi would do the trick, basketball fans might understand me but they are East Coast equivalent of the Lakers were the fans want marquee players to go with the rest of the team, hasn't the Heat attendance declined since LeBron went home?

Then what is their stadium called? Is it the citrus bowl? How many stadiums can you name after a f'ing orange?

Controlling all facets of game day at the expense of a smaller fan base in the stadium? Or are they expecting 30,000 will be plenty of seats once the initial mls excitement dies down?

Bingo. A] Once the excitement dies down and they are terrible demand won't be there and B]Limiting supply will increase price if they are good. It's win win.

If they were averaging 50K per game then yea it might be too small. But they aren't.
